thief class of no skill

Although I play a thief as my main and might be a bit biased I simply don’t see the problem. We have to make some serious choices in our builds in regards to dps and survivability.
Sure, a pure glass cannon thief can do some redonculous damage, but we die very quickly, a more stealthy build does slightly less damage, but can be the most annoying thing there is to come up against.
“nubs” who just spam 2 (heartseeker I assume) are usually not much of a threat, but those few players that really play the thief to perfection are a nightmare to deal with, but then again, most classes played well can be very difficult opponents.
Learning to deal with the different classes in PvP/WvWvW is part of the fun, adapting your build and tactics accordingly. There have been very few instances where I didn’t feel I could have won had I just adapted quicker, but sometimes it’s just that I recognize my opponent was a much better player than I am.

Not familiar with the GW1 system as I did not play it. But I did play WoW and sorely miss the ability to switch between two different speccs.

I am sure this is true for most players/classes, but different situations call for different builds. My personal situation as a thief is that I want a dps build for when I am out in the open world or in dungeons, but when I am in WvW I sometimes want a more utility/stealth oriented build. Sure I can pay the small fee to retrain every time I switch between the two, but come on, that gets annoying real fast. And also, while in WvW, my stealth build is very situational, and I would on occasion like to switch to a more pure dps build when defending locations or siegeing.

Having the ability to switch between two different speccs would make my experience a lot more enjoyable and I am sure the same can be said for a lot of people. Again borrowing from WoW I would suggest only being able to do it out of combat and give it a rather long cast time, perhaps even a long cooldown so as not to be abused. But forcing us to go back and manually assign all our trait points again is just tedious.
