I had taken a break from the game for various reasons. Tried other MMOs and enjoyed them less. I’ve recently found a group of people I thoroughly enjoy (and am discovering others!) and it makes GW2 very enjoyable.
I suggest that you find people you enjoy. Once you’ve done that, it won’t matter what you’re doing … dungeons, fractals, open world, sPvP, WvW, or just chatting it up in LA.
I have friends who would play this game with me if there is challenging content but without some challenging content they will not play this game unfortunately. I’m trying to find reasons to convince them to give this a try.
I’m not worried about gearing up or anything like that. What I’m interested in is difficult encounters to work on for a sense of achievement and challenge. It doesn’t have to be raids or dungeons, it just has to be difficult, so is there anything like that in this game?
Maybe I need to rephrase my question, zerging down bosses in 5 seconds doesn’t sound entertaining to me.
What is there to do for PvE Endgame that is actually challenging?
I am assuming that this question is coming from your experiences play other MMOs as it is not applicable to GW2 in the traditional sense of MMO design. The simple answer to your question is ALL!!! content is endgame content.
Thanks to the game’s design and scaling features, you can engage in basically any pve/pvp content at endgame whether it is continuing to work on your personal story, dungeons, fractals, wvw, pvp, map completion, excreta.
It is entirely up to the individual player to decision on what content they enjoy the most and to pursuit it at his or her leisure.
As you get to learn GW2 better, you will understand why this question is completely irrelevant.
While I get what you’re saying, it would really help if you can give me examples of some PvE content players do regularly at max level. Essentially I want to know if there are cool monsters that are actually challenging to fight or if it’s all just questing/exploring zones and doing everything one time?
So are you saying there is still no endgame PvE content then? Just grind quests/explore to finish off maps and get rewards? Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, do people just play this game for PvP then and that’s all?
I played Guild Wars 2 at launch and found there was a lack of endgame content to play around with. I’ve started seeing videos and advertising for the new expansion that’s coming to the game and it’s peaked my interest a little bit.
That said, I am wondering if anybody can break down the current state of endgame for this game? What PvE content is there to do at endgame and are there dungeons/raids or other instanced content to do with groups of friends?
I don’t have a lot of interest in PvP but always found the storyline/gameplay elements pretty fun so PvE is my main focus and I’m wondering if there is enough content to keep me hooked or if it’s just exploring/questing as far as PvE goes?
Thanks for the replies, one thing I’m still curious about is what is there to do once you hit level 80? I’m only level 68 right now but the leveling process in this game is fairly quick so aside from going back and completing zones and doing pvp is there anything fun to do?
Hello All,
I played Guild Wars 2 for about a month when it was first released and ended up quitting due to a situation I was having in real life. That said, I logged on yesterday and found that the game was really quiet in comparison to what I remembered. The server I am on still says “Very High” population so I was surprised to see that absolutely nobody was talking in the main towns map chat.
I’m wondering if anybody can enlighten me on the current state of the game? What improvements have been made in the last while? Aside from a guild, is there a more sociable chat area? Have they added any additional endgame content such as Raids or max level dungeons? If so, how is the best way to go about finding a group for the endgame content?
Any comments will be appreciated, I’m just looking for some answers before I start investing a larger amount of time into this game again. Thanks for reading.
