anet could host the actual game files in a compressed format for download outside of the launcher and moving into the right directory. problem solved. not just for linux, but for anybody on any platform that keeps crashing every 4 MB of updating through the launcher
I get the windows client, microsoft marketing has earned itself the lion’s share of the personal computer market. I get the mac client, apple computers cost way too much money to not be able to play games on it, and before you say it I know linux has such a tiny share of the market. well if developers would make their software support the linux platform too, more people will start using linux, instead of paying for a proprietary os that has a questionable privacy and security policy. and wine is not the answer, it takes probably at least 3 times as long to download updates cause of the constant crash and restarts. from a programming point of view linux development shouldn’t be that far of a stretch from mac development.
welcome to my world, and every other player that values controlling their operating system as opposed to the other way around, that rejects windows and mac.
