I have no idea if this will help but i get the same problem if i try to play from behind my VPN, i have to disable it to get the launcher to connect.
Rather annoying for me, could possibly be your problem!

I have 3 monitors and rather prefer my games to run on the left side monitor but i keep my ‘main’ monitor central, however the only way to play GW2 on my left monitor is to play in windowed mode which is foul and wrong and punishable by public lynching.
Are there any plans to introduce a ‘choose which monitor to boot on’ option?

Step 1, remove realtek HD audio in bios
Step 2, buy a proper sound card
Step 3, ???
Step 4, profit!

On a serious note, thats weird. Have you tried tweaking the audio quality in game? Faff around with the slider, see if that makes any difference. Maybe also check that the default sound quality in windows is set to 24bit 48k.
A bit of a hail mary i know but it might help!

I cant get the launcher to connect if im behind my VPN, i have to turn it off to play GW2. Do you have a VPN running on your computer or imbedded in your router?

I appear unable to connect to the game when connected to the net via VPN. Is this intentional or is there something going wonky my end?
