Good healing power = 1200+
Too much healing power — No such thing!Superior Runes of the Forge are amazing, but they don’t stack regen very well. You will definitely be tankier and stronger for using them, but you will be forced into using Fern Hound as your primary pet if you want to take advantage of the healing stat.
Thank you for your reply Faux
I had considered the notion that if I went with Runes of the Forge instead of Dwayna, it would be to the significant detriment of my healing potential.
With that in mind, I had been kicking around the notion that, if it gimps my healing too significantly, then I may want to ditch healing as my primary stat and switch to an arrangement of Rabid armor, Rampager Weapons, and ( more than likely ) Coral upgrades for trinkets to stack a combination of Condition Damage, Precision, Toughness, Power. I fear though, that if I were to go that route, even with the 1800+ Toughness, I’d still be squishy between the cooldowns for Rune of the Forge and a less potent Troll Ungent.
Really, in my mind I’m trying to create a Condition Damage, Healing Power, Precision, Toughness build, but I’m not sure I can squeeze in high Condition Damage, Healing Power, and Toughness while maintaining a respectable Critical Chance through Precision. =/ Is this even feasible or would it make more sense for me to give up the ghost and stick to stacking 3 stats if I’m going to be using Runes of the Forge?

Hey guys, I’ve got a build, not quite dissimilar to other builds you’ve seen floating around the forums, which focuses on healing power, toughness and condition damage.
I play Wvw often, roaming a majority of the time with 2 or more guild mates or by myself, and occasionally joining in on our zerg. My play style is focused on keeping conditions on my enemies while impeding their movement as much as possible so that my pet ( usually Jaguar or Lynx and Hyena ) can more easily land it’s blows.
While I enjoy having the ability to take a lot of damage and better active and passive healing to make up for any lost health, I feel like I could be doing more damage if I were to gear a little differently and sacrifice some healing power. The challenge for me seems to be trying to find a way to boost my damage either via power or condition damage without unintentionally stacking one or more stats that aren’t going to contribute much to the overall synergy of my build.
I’m curious as to what is, for my particular build, good healing power and what is too much. Likewise, what is considered good amount of condition damage for a class such as Ranger that can keep conditions on their opponent ( because I feel that while I have respectable condition damage, it’s not high enough to put more immediate pressure on my enemy ). If I had some better idea as to what is an acceptable amount of healing power for a tanky Ranger, then I could experiment with improving my condition damage or power.
I’m considering switching the Superior Runes of Dwayna for Superior Runes of the Forge because it seems like it would be more useful for me in situations where I’m facing more than one opponent or I’ve gotten ambushed by a Thief. The 10 seconds of protection could buy me enough time for my next Troll Ungent or to deal enough damage to down my enemy. I’m liking the idea of rolling Runes of the Forge because of the improvements to burning as well.

Honestly? Seeing as how most people in this thread have mentioned a number of the things I’d thought of, I’ll throw a something different into the pot.
I’d make all Ranger traps de-cloak any stealthed player that sets them off.
