Hi there! I’ve been away from GW2 for about two years now, and I’m just getting back into it to prepare for the expansion. My old guild has moved on from this game, so I am looking for another home for my lonely Mesmer.
Fair warning: this post will be rather lengthy, as I want to provide a good amount of detail for guild recruiters to make informed decisions.
A bit about me as a player first: I’ll admit I’m a bit rusty. The game has changed A LOT since I last played. I ended my first GW2 run with 40 Agony resistance from fractals back in 2013 (not great, but not totally n00b either), but before ascended armor was introduced. So I obviously have some catching up to do on the gear front. I did grind my way to a legendary weapon before then, so hopefully that speaks to my prior dedication to the game (and perhaps my own personal insanity :P). I work a full-time job, but I have at least a couple hours each evening during the week and more time on the weekends to play.
My main interests in this game are gear-grinding activities, running fractals (which I admittedly need a refresher on, but I catch on quickly!), guild/daily quests, guild/group WvW, and all the new goodies the HoT expansion will bring. My Mesmer typically runs GS/Sword+Focus. I tend to be a “one toon” kind of player, but I do have a Guardian I’ve leveled up in the mid-30s, and I will likely roll a Revenant next month.
I consider myself a sufficiently competent player when it comes to PvE, meaning I feel I have a good grasp of game mechanics and build theory. At the same time, I’m not the most uber min-maxer, nor do I consider myself elitist. If you are a fun, decent human being who doesn’t get my toon recklessly killed all the time, chances are we’ll get along just fine!
I’m looking for a guild that aligns with my personality and play style. To me, that means a guild that has enough active folks to run daily guild quests, run fractals and other gearing activities, and participates in WvW at least semi-regularly. Given my job and other personal commitments, I would prefer a guild with at least a majority of its membership based out of a North American time zone, although I do enjoy chatting with folks around the globe as well.
I promise in return to be a contributing member to the guild that accepts me into their fold. I’m a team player in-game and in life. I believe in treating others with respect, which includes respecting their time and effort such that no one feels like it is wasted.
If you’ve made it to the end of this diatribe and you think your guild and I are a match, please contact me. I’m itching for a great place to call home.
Thanks in advance!
GM Ishamezing was extremely helpful in getting my issue resolved and my legendary restored.
Well, the first GM response on my support ticket said he/she cannot restore my legendary. I have kindly asked for escalation of my request, and referred the GM to the thread simplesimon pointed out.
Thank you for that link! I’ll definitely explore what escalation options I have, if the initial response is not helpful. I was an avid supporter of the gem store in the past, and I hope to be again.
Thank you! I’ve just submitted a request. Fingers crossed!
Hi there,
I’m just getting back into GW2 to hopefully decide that I want to buy Heart of Thorns.
I haven’t played in a couple years, since before Legendary weapons got their major upgrade to be equivalent to Ascended weapons and able to shift their stats.
Since transmutation splitters are no longer valid (the one I got in my mail turned into charges), I’m unsure how to restore my legendary weapon back to its original state now. Any advice on how to do so? Should I log a support ticket?
Thanks in advance!
