Guild Wars 2

I’m new to playing MMO’s in general but I have played a lot of open world RPG games like the Elder Scrolls series and the Souls series. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for a dual wielding warrior build, sword or axe.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone, they were definitely helpful. I’m not to worried about difficulty in games (I’ve beaten all of the Souls games multiple times), so if anything that makes it sound a little more enticing.

I got the game back when it originally released as a gift but never played it due to the fact that I had a crappy laptop, but I’ve built a PC and I have been making my way through backlog and came across this game. So far I’m about 13 hours in and I’m at lvl 26 and really enjoying it.

If anyone has any advice on looking for a guild or people to play with I’m open for suggestions. Thanks for the advice on HoT, I will be getting it soon.

I just want to add that just because none of your real life friends play the game, doesn’t mean you can’t play the game with people. I’ve made some pretty close friends from gaming, some of which I’ve later met in real life. I’ve gone and met 12 of my guildies from this game, even though they’re on the other side of the world.

Saying I don’t have real life friends who play isn’t a good reason to solo everything, unless you only like to solo.

There’s a huge difference between joining a casual social guild and a harder core guild that has expectations. If you’re soloing anyway, you might consider finding a guild that just runs content without the baggage associated with it. Those are the only kinds of guilds I join in games, and it’s always worked for me.

I’ve been looking up on it and from everything that it seems to add it feels like it will be worth it. I figure I have 100+ hours left easily on the base game, as long as I don’t want to go to a new character. I will probably wait for another sale or maybe find a cheap physical copy somewhere. Thanks for the help.

Thanks everyone for the fast replies. The sale is what really made me start to think, my local Gamestop has one physical copy for $30 as well. As long as there is a lot to do then I think it would be worth it. I wasn’t sure if it was a quick play through or added a significant amount of extra hours.

This is kind of my first MMO, I’ve been playing for a few days and I just reached level 20. I’m enjoying the game quite a bit, I just didn’t know if the expansion was worth it or not? I play alone, none of my friends play on PC, so I wasn’t sure if this expansion would even be worth the money. Thanks for the help!
