I’m having the same problem, screen is stuck on “Initialzing…” Was able to boot up the game fine before today. I’m putting in a support ticket, but figured I’d add my voice here too.

I’m a FIOS user on a 64bit Windows 7 PC.

I’m also on Verizon in the NYC area and am experiencing this issue.

Instead of setting up a VPN, try this workaround:

Edit C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts using notepad (run as administrator)

Add this line at the bottom:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com

Save the file. If Notepad prompts you to save as a new file, you need to start over and run Notepad as administrator.

If you have the GW2 launcher already open, restart it. If this still doesn’t help, you may need to change the address above and try a different number (e.g. assetcdn.102.etc..).

You may want to remove this line later when (if?) they resolve the networking issue.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had this type of issue with Verizon recently. If I point out to verizon what worked, will it mean anything to them?

Worked for me too! I’m also a Fios user.

I’ve logged on with every one of my characters, but I have dyes that were not added to my account-wide dye panel. I’m not sure how many are missing, but I quickly noticed that my Black and Abyss were not present. Abyss came back when went into the Mists, but Black is still gone.

Is anyone else missing dyes? Is there going to be a fix? I’d hate to have to re-buy whatever I’m missing, esp the more expensive dyes.

I had the same problem. Went through a lot of trouble to get the first set of pages to get the first book for a low level alt. I go to turn them in before the end of the event and no Magister Tassi. Now I have no idea what to do with the pages. Are they even worth keeping around? Not that I want to take up that many bank spaces for a year, if they can even be turned in next Halloween event.
