I like the way it is. If it’s your first time through the game then you’ll only be using waypoints as places to respawn, since you’ll be broke.
And if you’re rich, you probably explored everything and wanna get places fast for one reason or another!
I gotta admit though, I’ve only come across 5 other people between 40-45. Not sure if waypoints are to blame, but MAYBE!?
I find that maxing out the “music interval” option helps with hearing the same songs over and over! It would be nice if things like waterfalls could be heard from further away.
The loud volume seems to be caused by the audio engine not recognizing above & below positions. You might be standing on top of a NPC in another floor which is why it’s loud yet not visible.
I’m using a 7.1 set and also have this & cutscene dialog annoyances.
This happens to me, but I won’t be anywhere near the NPC and their voice is blasting in my ears. I’ll usually be able to see them a while away, and the next line in their voice dialog sounds completely normal. I’m using an emulated 7.1 headset.
It’s kinda funny hearing random players shouting their buff lines right in my ears in WvW when they’re hundreds of meters away…
I’ve been on the FoV bandwagon too, but if they just added a camera first person camera or a way for the camera not to slide up our butts when we look up then the issue would be less apparent.
I know WoW has a camera option that stops the camera getting too close to your character when you look up, so you can get a clear glimpse of what’s above you!
