exotic ones and its mainly only for extensive players, exotics is always fine)

But this will never be an issue in PVP?

I’m thinking alternative C would be appropriate for me. I farmed CM untill I had the entire armor set, but that was mainly because of looks. Even though it was somewhat time consuming it was something to do and focus on
Regarding armor and their stats though, if I collect an armor set from a dungeon, will the stats on it be as high as can be achieved, or are there certain armor sets that are better than others?

Allright, sounds good.

Another question that comes to mind. Since I can basicly pick and choose my entire character in PVP, how would I go about getting specific armor sets in PVE? As an example, if I want my PVE character to be identical to my PVP character, what’s the best way to achieve this? Running dungeons for armor sets with specific stats? Or crafting/buying from AH ?

Thanks alot of your feedback! I should’ve mentioned I am level 80, but it’s been a long time since I first reached that level, and I haven’t really played since. If being level 80 opens up some new/other activities I should look into, feel free to let me know

Regarding the pvp armor stats, this is all defined by my choice of amulet? So when I select the assassins amulet, my chest armor basicly turns in to “Assassins chestpiece”? If this is the case, I have to say I like the change as opposed to the PVE/PVP split they used to have

Hi!

I’m hoping someone here could give a returning (and relatively new) player some advice. I’ve played some GW2 at this point, but my knowledge of the game and its systems is somewhat limited. GW2 is a game I really want to love, but it really feels like I need a deeper understanding of the game for that to happen. I keep returning to WoW because it’s familiar territory and I know every aspect of it, but it only takes about a week before I’m tired of it.

I guess this isn’t the easiest topic to give advice on, but I’ll try to make a list of specific things I would like to know as a first step towards understanding and enjoying GW2 more

  • PVP and PVE is separate. If item stats are normalized in PVP, where/how can I buy gear that has the stats I’m looking for? I’m somewhat happy with my PVE set, but I would like other stats for PVP. Is there a vendor selling the type of armor I’m looking? (i.e berserker, rampager, etc.)
  • Where do I go? This world is massive! Besides doing a few parts of the mainquest, I’ve cleared a couple of areas (100% completion). Should I just finish the mainquest to get a itroduction to different areas? I’d like to visit every zone at some point, but I’m having a hard time deciding where to go first
  • I’ve done two dungeons so far, AC and CM. Both great experiences, perhaps especially AC. The first time I tried AC it was a wipefest, but it was nice to finally get punished for just mindlessly running around. Not sure if this dungeon was nerfed, but it was alot easier the last time I played. Anyway, for the question. Should I complete the zones these dungeons are located in before doing the dungeon (in order to get some backstory)?
  • How do I get into crafting? I’ve done some crafting, but it’s still on a very low level. Is there anything interesting to be made with crafting and is it worth spending time on?

Guess that’s it for now. I have too many questions to list them all.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated

Hello!

I see you’ve closed your recruitment for the time being. Do you have any estimate on when you’ll be able to accept new members?

I’ve been looking for a guild to make my experience in Guild Wars 2 better, because it seems like it’s the one thing that’s missing in the game. I’m not a great player by any means yet, but I was hoping to improve and perhaps learn from someone more experienced in your guild. Should I make an application of some sort, of should I just wait and follow this thread for when you open your recruitment again? Would love to join whenever possible:)

I will say however, that even if I’m pretty new to Guild Wars 2, I am a huge fan of pvp in general, and I have alot of experience both in leading pvp teams, as well as participating in pvp teams (mainly from WoW and WAR).

Regards

Would it help to join a guild or something perhaps? Which servers are the most active in general and in PvP?

Hello everyone!

I’m having some trouble deciding on which mmo to play basicly. Like so many others I started out with WoW as my first mmo, and even though I’ve enjoyed alot of my time in that game, my motivation to play that game dissapears the moment I log in.

So recently I searched the web far and wide for an alternative. Earlier I’ve tried mmos like Rift, Aion, AoC, WAR, Neverwinter (very briefly), ESO and probably some others that I can’t recall at this time. The main problem I have when switching out WoW for another mmo is that most my friends play WoW, and even though they’re just as fed up as me, they’ll almost never give anything else a try.

Then came Guild Wars 2, which I personally didn’t enjoy to much the first time I tried it. Although the graphics were great, it felt so bright and shiny and lacking in personality. Eventually however, I learned to really enjoy this new world and it really felt like a worthy adversary to WoW, where if I got all my friends to join, we would have a greater time in this game rather than WoW. So some of my friends joined, and we did have alot of fun with it. Running dungeons felt like a challenge again and the pvp was pretty awesome once you learned how to play your character. But like all good things, this came to an end, and my friends aswell as myself stopped playing simply because we were all abit tired of the mmo genre.

Now, I don’t have the same amount of spare time I used to have way back when, and in that regard I think Guild Wars 2 would suit my needs perfectly. I don’t play as much as I did, but my gaming these days is usually limited to HoN for some instant pvp action, CS:GO/BF4 for some FPS and then there’s only one thing I’m missing. I like the part of mmos where it feels like every hour you put into the game affects your character permanently (levels, gear, etc.).

So I really want Guild Wars 2 to be that game, but I’m wondering if it really is the type of game I’m looking for. I’m pretty casual these days, but try to master the games I play. I enjoy some PvE every now and then, but PvP is where my heart is. The game seems to have alot of content, but alot of the time I feel alone in this wast game that is Guild Wars 2. I’ve grouped up with random people to do PvE content and it’s pretty fun, but it’s still not the same as some of the experiences I’ve had running instances in WoW. And I’m getting the feeling that playing some structured PvP every now and then really doesn’t improve my character in any way. Same goes for PvE aswell, even if it’s fun and challenging taking down a boss, there’s usually no exciting rewards in the end.

So, I guess what I’m wondering is, what would you recommend I do with my time in Guild Wars 2. How do I get the most out of the game, while playing casually, and still get rewarded for the time I put into the game. Are there specific things I can try to achieve, or is the game simply a sandbox for smaller minigames of dungeon running and “moba-styled” PvP?

I would be greatfull for any suggestions and feedback people might have
