Also, there is roughly a bazillion other places to get gear. You’ll probably be alright.

And if you are so determined to look like a Priory member, just use transmutation stones to change the look of the stuff you want to actually use.

Depends on the race for the starter. You have three different choices in the creation menu. It will be derivative of the starting zone, examples: Sylvari/Fern Wolf, Moa(I think), Norn/Bear, Snow Leopard, Wolf, Charr/Devourer.

To get new ones you walk up to mobs named “Juvenile _________” and click F (Charm) and you instantly can use them.

Thanks for the info Denial. I think my biggest problem is I took the whole, any Profession can do anything, to seriously.

I wanted to be able to run into a group and just muscle down anything in my way.

I feel like the Greatsword used to be similar to this, but it lost it’s potency.

I think I mostly need to break my love of the idea of a caster running around with a giant sword and being a wrecking ball, and maybe explore the other weapons a bit more.

I remember thinking that staff was really powerful when I first unlocked the skills.

Guess I’ll just keep playing and experimenting.

Hey all,

So I played Mesmer with Greatsword|Sword/Pistol through every BWE. I loved it and how it played.

Now however, I can’t help but feel I’ve been nerfed. I feel like my damage output is pathetic compared to my other Professions, especially my Ranger, Guardian, and Elemantalist.

This is not a ply to buff Mesmers, and I’m not complaining that they got nerfed, but what are you doing to have success as a Mesmer?
I’m only level 15 right now, is it going to get better as I get more traits?
Will it make me feel less like a glass cannon that’s shooting balls of paper?

TLDR: IF you are playing Mesmer and getting good results, what build/weapons are you using?
