Guild Wars 2

thanks for the answers everyone, should I buy the HoT Expansion? or wait until I’m max lvl?

So I bought Guild wars 2 maybe 2 years ago….and while the game play and visuals were amazing I just couldn’t get into it, I didn’t see the trinity (healer, tank, dps) and there wasn’t quests leading me everywhere, so I dropped it.

I picked it up again a few days ago and got to lvl 19 and I’m having a blast, I see there are story quests but they are staggered 10,20,30 etc. I’m just playing through zones gathering hearts and such and doing the story quests when I get the appropriate level, is this the correct way of doing things? If so that’s pretty awesome…once I dropped that preconceived notion that the game needs to lead me, the game suddenly opened up and become much more fun, it felt much more natural.

What lvl is the first dungeon/grouped-instance? How do these play out does everyone just tank/dps/geal themselves?

I guess ill stick it out to at least 30 and see if it gets any better….I mean thus far the pve element is beyond easy…I thought WoW was bad.

I will try my first dungeon experience and see if I like it, if not I think ill probably move on. I play MMOs for the social experience, and I can honestly say this is the most linear, socially inept game Ive ever played, there is literally no need to communicate or cooperate.

Not that its your guys fault though , I really do appreciate all these comments and suggestions, and I will be sure to try them out.

Thanks for the help guys, maybe its just me coming to the realization that this game is… a lot different then what I normally like.
I mean prove me if Im wrong but I feel by lvl 17 I should have seen more people, I play at all times of the day, btw. I like having an endgame, I see none here?? I like strategy and thinking, heck even organization when it comes to dungeons, I mean… im pretty sure a dungeon would just be a “kill as fast as possible”, I already read all over the place only 2 classes are pve viable warrior and guardian.

Im highly frustrated that no one helps or talks or says anything in game, I’ve never been on a game that has no chat at all…its eerie.

so basically is it a solo pve game? I dont ever see anyone is there more people high level?
i can see it being hard to find a group?

Recently bought the game and I am confused and have a few questions and concerns…

-I am a lvl 17 sylvari and I literally see no one…. Ive done all events I come across alone all quests alone, If I see anyone i try to talk to them and no one says anything back?? Is the game this un-social, or is it my server fort aspen wood.

-What is there to do besides grind and quests? Is their dungeons or instances? how do they work? as there is no healers or abilities to hold aggro? is it a dps zergfest?

-what is there to do endgame if there are no raids?
