Horrible game design. Other players keep griefing, blocking view, camera is wonky, it’s just a mess. They obviously didn’t play test this with groups.
As an Asuran player, I agree. I can’t see crap all. It’s horrible game design. Either remove the timer mechanic, or make it a solo instance event. Don’t think they actually ever play tested this in a group scenario.
yet more bad game design and bugs in this holiday event. ArenaNet has really made a mess of things.
Two fixes for the clocktower, either will work:
1) Make the event a single player instance (like story events)
2) Remove the timer mechanic
Either fix will help stop the griefing that is currently going on. It’s just bad game design right now.
From a technical game design viewpoint, it’s flawed. If it was a single instance event with only yourself, or if it didn’t have the timer, it would be fine. But given that other players can grief you and cause you to fail, and that the timer makes it impossible to avoid the crowd, it is bad game design. Two easy fixes: get rid of timer or make it single player instance. Either will fix the problem.

We’d love to log in and see, but as you may have noticed, we all DID log in and you failed to produce anything. Perhaps, next time, you will actually have something. Very disappointed, like many others today.
Wish there was an Internet Time so when it’s something that is world wide, like a game, they could have a reference time everyone would have. I hate time zones.
The Survivor Monthly Achievement needs to be scaled so it’s achievable by lower levels. Currently it is nearly impossible to get, especially since logging out, changing zones, or using a teleport can all reset the counter. So not only is it unbalanced based on level, but it’s also bugged.
Either scale it, fix bug, or replace it.
Bugged on Stormbluff Isle too. Lots of people looking for this missing NPC.
