Guild Wars 2

Thanks alot for all the responses, i’ll get right on to starting my new story on an EU Server.

I originally bought Guild Wars 2 to play with a few friends on an American server and ofcourse to see what the game was like, i came to really enjoy the game but due to the time difference, (UK – USA) there was hardly ever anyone online.

Now a few other friends are considering buying GW2 and demand it be on a UK server to so there’s no time gap between players, and that’s where the question of transferring comes in.

I know there’s a Transfer button on the character select screen when you click select Server, and i’d like to move to a European server, i remember when first starting the game it said i’d only be allowed to create chars on 1 server.

My question is: if i deleted my characters on the American server, would i be able to start new on a European server for free? or would i still need to pay the 1800 gems (£25ish) to transfer?
