Does anyone know why I received a different number of copies for town clothes tonics (3 tonic copies for pants; 1 tonic for a shirt) and outfits (4 copies)? I only ever bought 1 of each item.
I’ve not been able to find any information about this—any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Like the original poster, I was under the impression that the wardrobe would be a separate, semi-permanent feature from the actual equipment I was really looking forward to a Rift-style wardrobe function where you could unlock a number of different wardrobe ‘slots’ through micro-transactions. I would have been happy to drop some gems upfront for a number of wardrobe slots upfront for its permanence but now I’m reluctant to use any of my transmute charges.
This sounds like a great idea! I think this would be a much more intuitive way to dye one’s armor. For me, it’s trial-and-error every single time I try to dye specific parts of the armor b/c I have no idea which quadrant is going to change which part of the armor.
Choosing a profession:
As others have mentioned, start off by picking whichever appeals to you. If you love your first choice of professions, great. If not, give other professions a chance I have all 8 professions and I can tell you that I do not love them all equally!
Moreover, for some of them it took me quite a while of playing and then leaving them to stew a bit before I really warmed up to the profession. Sometimes it was because I didn’t understand the strengths of the profession. At other times, it was because I hadn’t found the right weapon/trait combination that fit my play style. For example, I found my mesmer super boring until I was high enough to unlock a lot of my traits and participate in dungeons and finally get a taste of how my mesmer contributed to group play (it was around level 40-ish was when I really started to have fun with it). For my engineer, it took a while to become accustomed to the unique ‘tool kits’ engineers have access to that replace their weapons and to understand the synergy effects that I could get with those skills.
I hope you have fun in Tyria!!
That said I do have a concern. I have bought the Pirate Town clothes for many (maybe 8?) of my characters. How will that be handled? It seems unfair that people that did not buy the pirate (or any outfits) will now get the outfit for all their characters for a one time purchase, when I had to buy them separately for all of mine.
So I am wondering how Anet handle this so that people that paid money and supported them will not be punished for buying duplicate outfits.
I also have an unopened Pirate Outfit Towns Outfit in storage. What should I do with that?
Thoughts?
I am in a similar predicament with the Aetherblade Heavy Armor skins. I bought two of them, one for my Guardian and one for my Warrior, but now that second purchase is redundant (and yet unopened, even!)
I hope they decide to refund the gems!
