My computer - What the heck?

Okay, let me just clarify.
I know more or less nothing. So basically my friend has recommended that I just get a new graphics card (he recommended one) and plug it in to the PCI port on my computer should it be compatible, and then get a new motherboard and processor and possibly a case should the need arise.
Thanks for all the help though, even if I didn’t understand much.

Buying a new computer is out of the question for me, and since my friend lives locally I think it’s easier. Overhauling this computer won’t be as much a problem as it would be if I weren’t replacing the motherboard for a compatible socket.

Hey guys! I recently reinstalled GW2 on this computer due to one problem.
So I had a lot of low FPS. Never got higher than 17-18 FPS. That’s because this computer has what I’ve been told is a laptop processor. It has an AMD E1-1200 APU with Radeon HD Graphics, and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. And it’s a Desktop.

Basically, I wanted to upgrade my processor but the only ones available were pretty bad, due to having a FT1 BGA socket on the motherboard. I don’t know much about it, but I just heard it’s a laptop socket on a laptop motherboard.
I want to know if any of you guys know a cheap way of getting a computer built to run GW2 on even medium graphics without lag, as low settings gave me low FPS on this computer. I have a monitor, keyboard and mouse, as well as speakers.
I don’t want to go more than £400 if possible, but I will if I have to. If it runs guild wars 2, it’ll run WoW, and skyrim runs on my computer fine anyway, but it’d be nice to finally play a game on higher than low settings.

Thanks!
