Finally, team colours are GONE

It’s always been that way for me. I play on Linux so the graphics can act weird with colors.

If I dyed my armor, unless I zoomed in completely, the old dye would still appear until I load. The same applied to my sPvP team colors where I’d only see them when zoomed in.

Exotic NPC named Armors should match the NPC

Many exotic armors are named after NPCs from GW1, yet they look nothing like them.

I suggest that they update them to appear as the armors worn by the NPCs that they are named after.

I was excited to see Shiro’s Armor ingame, unfortunately, it looked nothing like it. How misleading and disapointing.

In Dredgehaunt Cliffs, the POI next to the Toran Hollow title on the map(I think it’s there) is a shrine to bear, kneeling to it summons bear and triggers an event where you have to beat him and the reward is not only the regular event rewards, but also a temporary buff that lasts a few minutes. Perhaps you could find it for another video.

Also, Fireheart Rise has a guy next to the heart south of Pig Iron Mine who mensions going out later for his plans to make more inventions and says you could tag along. I don’t know how to trigger the start of it, but if you try using the cannons in the small base west of him, it says you need something from him to be able to use them. This is possibly another hidden event, but I haven’t figured it out yet.

Reset traits like in sPvP. If we can’t change them, then it isn’t really a customizable game where anyone can swap their roles on the fly. It would be like if in GW1 a monk got Smiting Prayers and was stuck with Smite attributes forever, unless they paid a fee at some remote NPC.

Free travel was also in GW1, but everyone loves money sinks apparently and not everything is an outpost in GW2.

No armor damage from WvW would be great, paying over 1 silver per death(and dying happens a lot in WvW) at lvl80 is worse than paying to travel everywhere in PvE.

Hey, now that a mac version is out, when do you think it will be on Wine?

From my experience, mac versions have always run better on Linux than windows because they both use openGL.

I always wondered if it would be nice to have a cushion effect in AoE attacks if everyone bunched together to ‘lesson the impact’ with padding.

So some AoE would do % based on the amount of people and that % would spread across them rather than being a big ball of ouch no matter what.

I think GW had one skill that worked like that.

I’m not very confident in compiling it myself so I’ve just been using PlayonLinux. But I do muck around with the Playon version anyway based on what others say could make a different(like removing DX9 plugins).

My Playon version of GW2 didn’t update to match the more recent Wine patches for it until I got Playon for GW2 after my OS change anyway. Like how I can now use market and how GW2 has no listed wine plugins at all now.

I’d be much happier with one compiled by someone else, but that’s pretty much what Playon is, isn’t it?

I’ll keep an eye out in case you make that Howto.

I think the FPS is completely random now. I slimmed down, it does feel smoother after a load as that is a common lag moment, but everything else feels the same, exactly the same. There are times where it’s been good and bad. For instance, today I did WvWvW and any and all battles made it too laggy to actually play that well. A few days ago in WvWvW in a big assault on a gate my frames were great and playable, so I think it’s completely random and that smoothness was even before the OS change.

Norn Bear Form

I just use the forms for fun and if I really need my elite I swap to my profession skill. My biggest gripe is that they aren’t unstoppable like Orrion Brutes. It’s so pathetic when your form spends most of it’s 30 seconds being knocked around by KD/KB.

Last night in an explorable dungeon, wolf form did last longer in a swarm of ghosts tanking than anyone else in the team though, he would have killed a few if they didn’t knock him around.

The only Norn Elite that can attack and move is the Snow Leopard.

I like the mobility of Leopard. I think Leopard is quite useful for escape situations in WvWvW.

As a thief, being in a large mob often results in dying or sneaking away. When sneaking isn’t an option I can be Leopard and sneak some more and while not sneaking I don’t die very fast at all, in the occasion that the charge doesn’t auto target, you can run away from those zergs too. Against other players the forms are quite strong and I feel Leopard is quite weak for DPS compared to the rest, yet is quite powerful against players.

My first elite was Raven, boy that one is horrible. The coolest skill(skill 2) locks you in place long enough for the enemy to get back up and run upto you again. It made me not bother with the other forms until Leopard(because my character followed Leopard so it was for concept).

The reason why it is slower in Ubuntu than the lighter Xubuntu and the lightest Lubuntu is Ubuntu’s Unity. It uses 3D acceleration, you need a high-end box to get the same level of response as Lubuntu (or the Gnome2-Ubuntu versions years ago).

Even if you use Linux-Mint’s own, the result will be the same, because of the 3D acceleration requirement. However if you use the forked Gnome2 version of Linux-Mint, you’ll get the same fast performance before Ubuntu switched to Unity and Gnome3.

I’ve been thinking of swapping back to Win7 for faster FPS and more compatable graphics(I think the reason other screenshots look better might be DX11?).

Would you recomend swapping to Lubuntu? I’m considering it after hearing this. I like Ubuntu’s interface though.
