Slightly offtopic – I think the dredge are blind (considering their technology I would bet on them using some sort of sonar to guide themselves). Since you can’t blind something that is already blind, then you can’t blind dredge (though you could be able to make them deaf if you had access to some sort of sonic tech).
On topic – I actually did that zone solo on my mesmer prior to the nerf on puzzle (is it true? I haven’t gone back since) and the jumping puzzle is doable if you don’t aggro the dredge mobs before or have someway to loose aggro (invisibility comes to my mind). After you begin, the random dredge in the scaffolding shouldn’t be problematic at all, and even the boss mob guarding the chest should be relatively easy.
On the second jumping puzzle, I moved past it like a breeze – you can easily outrun most mobs before they attack you (ie without entering combat mode). There are some that must be killed in order to cross some gaps, but if compare to other jumping puzzles like the one on Gendarran Fields with multiple mobs using reload or Dark Reverie with tricky jumps and mobs waiting for you if you survive the fall, this one is really easy.
Anyway, if you’re struggling with the puzzle feel free to ask me for help in game (currently in Ring of Fire, name= Ossë Oiomure) or write more details around here, some places are easy if you find the right place to be, else they can be really hard.
Though I am not much of a skin collector, I find this idea brilliant. The forums need more constructive ideas like this. And with this implemented I might even pay just for the skin extractor!
I’m a lvl 80 sylvari mesmer (staff/sword+focus) aligned with the Priory working my way through the orrian personal story (estate of decay next) and so far I have to say I didn’t find the personal story too dificult.
While there are some missions that have a large number of spawns, I somehow managed to pull through solo and without dying more than once or twice.
For those with problems in Claw Island I suppose the way to go is to afk and let the invulnerable npcs clear the way. I had to leave to do something unexpectedly and when I returned the courtyard was completely free of undead.
Anyway, the only mission I had difficulty with was during one of the betas with the lvl 10 norn quest where you have to kill a wolf icebrood – but since it wasn’t mentioned I guess it got toned down.
Still, if anyone needs help – another ally, even with scaling, makes it much easier – just pm me Ossë Oiomure, usually in either Ring of Fire or Far Shiverpeaks.
not to be rude to OP but story mode dungeons (at least until Sorrow Embrace, since I haven’t done any after TA) are actually quite doable with PUGs without teamspeak or anything.
However, the players making up your team DO influence a lot. I did AC story mode 3 times and the first two most of my team just melted to the trash mobs. However with another team I managed to do finish most bosses without wipes – in fact, in the lovers, I was the only one who died (tanking the mesmer boss – I’m a mesmer myself).
I usually do the dungeons once I’m a couple of levels above the min req, especially if it opens up new traits (very noticeable difference). The best advice I can give if you don’t wan’t to read wikis/guides (like me) is assign a team member that calls targets and have everyone focus that, try to kite melee bosses, and learn how to time your disables with your team – explain how the stacks of defiant work, so that people don’t waste a 1 sec daze rather than a knock-back.
Also, on the lover’s, if you have difficulty there, try reading the text under their hp bars – they need to be split or else they’ll probably wipe the floor with you – the mesmer is somewhat easy to tank since you can keep throwing stones/knockback/pulls/pushes at him and using line of sight (just beware of killing yourself with confusion!)
Good luck
Combat, Dynamic Events... what's the point if they're easy mode?

I have to say that after playing a few dungeons both story and explorable mode, they too suffer from the same problem.
Big boss fights should be more than ‘omg its over 9000’ hp mobs that can one-shot you they should require more thought put into it and some of the sugestions made above have that potential.
For that, you have my vote.
On a side note, the cannons killing players would give rise to a lot of grieving i think, so i’m against that.
Has anyone else been having this issue, where when a npc is talking to you and you’re standing right in front of him and yet it seems like his voice is coming from miles away?
It’s really annoying, since sometimes you can barely listen to what they say and have to read the chat window/dialog pop-up and kills the immersion a bit. It’s especially annoying when you have two npcs slightly apart talking to each other and you have to keep moving the camera about to listen to both at the same time, often leading to not seeing either in the screen.
If anyone had this issue and fixed it, can you please say how?
Thanks
