I’ll wait a while and if I can get it to turn back on, I’ll check the event log. The first time it happened, it was plugged into the charger, so I’m thinking that perhaps there’s an issue with internal wiring or something.

I’ll see, as mine is a very new computer, manufactured in May, and I’ve been pretty gentle with it.
I would ask him to, but his computer is doing the same thing, no longer turning on at all. His is much older than mine.
The other thing that we suspect is that at the time we were both at our college campus, using their wifi, so it may be something linked to that (they’re both laptops).

I should note that these crashes occurred while neither of us was on GW.
I highly doubt it was my computer overheating, as the only things I had open were Word, Powerpoint, and Chrome and it only felt warm at most.

With me, I’m running Windows 8 and it simply shut down.
With my friend, who has Windows 7, it bluescreened, then shut down.

I know it seems unlikely that GW2 would be the cause of this, but it seemed rather ominous that we downloaded the same patch on the same day and both got this problem.

Ok, so today me and another friend got onto Guild Wars 2 and downloaded the most recent patch. Afterwards we played for a while, and all was well.

Later on, my computer (I’m on a different comp to post this) completely turned off on its own. It did this 3 times, each with a delay where it would not turn back on again for a few moments, and now it simply will not turn on.
Now, why I am going to GW about this is that my friend has had the exact same thing happen. We do have one other theory as to why this crashing has occurred that is unrelated to GW, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem with this patch?

Luckily the computer this happened to is fairly new and I can have it replaced, thanks to the warranty, but I cannot say the same for my friend.

This seems like a very big deal for a patch to do this, so I thought it should be brought to attention if this is the case.
