Well then I guess I’m saying I’d appreciate some physical representation. It still seems to me though that since you have to press W to then see you character flip and head in that direction you have to step forward a tiny bit. Is that just me? Can you truly rotate in place? I guess it’s not really a hindrance, it simply feels just a little funny.
And I’d still like to flip LMB and RMB out. And double right click a target to use ability 2.
That’s just it. I wanted right click to turn camera and character without pressing W. Left click already just looks around. Why have RMB do that at all?
Wow… Big thread that seems largely about MF. I think I’m on this side of MF being a little messed up right now.
Warhammer online had the perfect system, one could choose to stay anonymous or allow others to inspect them by the check of a box, but they were not aloud to ever look at their stats, it was quite simple and perfect.
Allowing inspection only brings players closer together which quite frankly, is lacking somewhat atm.
This kinda thing… I think the ability to see “skins” would be fine. I support that idea.
What’s everyone’s opinion on its current state, and how would you like it to be?
Right now left clicking allows looking around but your turning is exclusively controlled by that sloth like keyboard turning. While right clicking allows you to whip around as long as you are moving forward.
Why not at least allow right clicking to turn your character without very slight forward movements? Why not give an option where the mouse would normally turn your character and only upon holding LMB would the cursor appear and you could release it over something to click it. ( you could still click things by aiming the middle of the screen at them.) This would just be an option for people who preferred this playstyle. (EDIT: That just sounds wonky in retrospect.)
Something needs to be done I think to help make action oriented mobile combat even easier to manage. Right now you can whip around but only be pressing W while hold the RMB and looking around. At least remove the necessity of holding W to turn your character as well as camera while holding RMB.
You could also switch LMB and RMB out if you wanted. Or how about in the keybind tab, you could have a drop down menu on each action that allowed you to tie it to mouse movement (if it was feasible) so you could tie “Turn Right” and “Turn Left” to your mouse movement. I think double clicking a target should activate ability 2 as well. So you can have your first two abilities on your primary mouse buttons.
I’ve got a lot floating around in my head right now, and I think my first solution is enough because LMB already turns camera without affecting your character. RMB should allow you to turn your character with out moving foward.
Give me y’alls thoughts.

There is story tied to the Hearts, if you speak with a Scout. They tell the story of the area.
Are you serious?! Those dialogues are plain simple and they DONT tell any worth reading story.
And traditional quests do?
The text is practically the same.
“Oh, we’ve been having trouble with so and so, can you thin their numbers out?”
“Oh, the camp just North of here is having trouble with so and so, and the camp to the West is a bit short on hands to help gather stuff. Maybe you can help them out?”
Please explain how these are any different?
So hearts are exactly how you describe them. How quests are different? There is story tied to every single quest. And a bunch of quests can form a chain with long and compelling story.
For examples check out these:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_hearts_in_Diessa_Plateau
(simple tasks without any story tied to it – heart tasks aren’t tied together in any way)
http://www.wowwiki.com/Grizzly_Hills_quests
(long chains of tasks with long and compelling story tied to every chain)Single WoW, Rift or SWTOR quest isn’t much different then heart task. But as a whole quests are able to tell compelling stories. And hearts aren’t able to do that.
Mmm… SOME quests have long and compelling story lines, others are as uninteresting as a nice portion of the heart quests. In this game as far as I can tell They’re just divided into the (usually) more nondescript quests, and living stories. So you have the same lore and chains to follow like in WoW and then a freer version of collect x amount or kill x amount quests.
the design principle is to keep a certain number of skills, not buttons.
Another big reason I like GW2. But I wouldn’t mind more optional buttons. Aren’t there mods though? (Haven’t been playing long… And on that basis you can also slam me for putting forward opinions.)
