Skirmishing and Marksmanship are good for most weapon sets.

Marksmanship raises your power (how much damage you do with any weapon) and the duration of your conditions, Skirmishing raises your precision (chance of getting a critical hit) and the damage you do when you get one.

What you’ve got there is the basis of a Beserker (or Zerker) build – named after the runes and armor sets that boost power, precision and critical damage. It’s what’s known as a ‘glass cannon’ build – it does a lot of damage but doesn’t have much in the way of defence. It can be very effective and is popular, especially in PvE but you really need some way to avoid or mitigate damage because you won’t be able to endure it like people who put points into toughness (armor) and vitality (health).

But you’ve got that covered by having your pet block for you. I’d recommend using pets that attack at melee range and have high health/defense and skills that can slow down or disable enemies. The bears are popular for that but I’ve found some of the moas work well too. (I like the black moa, which is identical to the pink moa except for the look.)

The one thing you might want to think about is if you find yourself using the short bow more often than the longbow it might be worth putting points into Wilderness survival as well to increase your condition damage.

But you can work that out as you go. You’ll have to reset your traits twice as you level up – when you use the manuals to unlock higher tiers, and you can reset them at any other time by talking to the trainer, so you get plenty of opportunities to play around with your build.

wow dude this truly helps, thank you!!

i have a ranger and i love shooting from far since my pc is not the fastest of them all. what should my second class be, i can’t consider a warrior because of all the contact they make i would die or it be too risky i prefer something that might be more based on range/distance
