DC and can’t reconnect: happened in SPVP, one by one we were all knocked out. And I was bloody winning…
same here, 20 points from beautiful win and i cant get in
1) adding NPC heroes/henchmen that follow you and fight with you
Henchmen and heroes were needed in gw1 because the entire game required you to play in some sort of a party. Gw2 is a real mmo, go make friends and play around with them. I sure it would be more interesting and memorable if you adventure with a friend than with a NPC that attacks once per 5 seconds….
2) Hardcore mode for dungeons that makes the enemies higher lvl than you and use more abilities
This isnt “hard core” at all… everyone would still be doing the same thing. Full zerk, skip area, buff, stack in corner and ratatata at boss.
Except you would be glancing your strikes cause the enemy is higher lvl than you…
And why should there be a need of hard core mode in order to add new abilities to mobs and bosses? Isnt that needed anyways for the boring :attack once per 5 second, knock back, 1 bleed…cripple attacks mobs normally have ?
3) Vanquishing a personal instance of a world zone
What for!? what possible reward would you want to go for in order to do 100% map completion AGAIN,but this time you have to kill everything that moves…and do all the events i assume? even tequatl!?
Oh, you think having 5 party members would solve everything?
4) More gw1 skills/combat/trait system/attribute points, Dual classes system
gw2 has a completely different and very simple combat mechanics, and it is paired up with a even simpler gear/stats mechanic. Please deal with it.All gw2 can add from gw1 has been already added in one way or the other.(mostly done differently than in gw1…)
-Yearly BD presents for characters, you get either a unique tonic, or a random mini from the yearly pack
In gw2 everyone gets queen jenna for first year, for 2nd year they get a title and a cake rifle…-guild capes
We got guild armor and weapons that have a tiny guild emblem on them…i dont remember seeing those on anyone in my 2 years of playing-guild halls
We got player home instances…that we visit for our city exploration and our daily node mining…..i know they also “evolve” and more npcs are added to the instance as you do events and story missions….but nobody rly seems to bother much with that….-Content
Gw1 had expansions
gw2 has living story, which is fine by me. I get new content ,new updates, patches, changes, sometimes a new zone. But lets face it. LS will never make a impact as a expansion can…well..the “traditional” meaning of a expansion…
1) Sure, but I work, and have class so I game at weird hours, I’d like to have a friend on but not everyone can and maybe lots of people are in y position and simply don’t mention it.
2)I think when they say hardcore they mean that they want a genuinely more challenging dungeon option where, say, the bosses might keep you in agro or the disengage spots don’t work, the objective enemies are tougher and smarter while the trash ones know how to get in the way better
3) Perhaps as a way to obtain another exploration gift without a brand new character or there could be separate achievements/rewards for vanquishing and for that area, maybe include it with a title track that grants a pve buff like others have suggested; clear x mobs in mount maelstrom and gain +5% vs destroyers, etc.
4) I agree here, it is far too late to rework or revert traits and the combat system EXCEPT that I would like non-story instances where i can truly fight proper mobs
-But why not allow some random mini’s/tonics for bday’s to give us a little RNG love that we don’t risk anything for?
-guild capes
Emphasis on tiny; they are barely visible and usually on subpar skins. Sure I can show my guild emblem on my breast plate but unfortunately it is the equivalent of Banded armour with cloth on top and it makes my character look dumb. A long flowing cape would look very at home on my guardian however. And what if I roll an asura? Is my emblem really visible on my chest piece or on my bow or rifle?
-guild halls
Player instances are a start, but they could be so much more. Think Airship but for the guild; you unlock vendors and services, crafting units, etc. have access to banks and guild banks and it provides a good place for your guild to hang out together not to mention the hopefully incoming GvG where it would make defending your base actually feel important; hell, if a certain npc is killed in a ranked gvg maybe you need to gather more commendations or influence to bring him back and until then you might be short a jewelcrafting merchant or a black lion trader.
-GW2’s living story doesn’t really draw me in the way that the expansion packs did and it isn’t too late for the expansion pack anyways; we still have Cantha and Elona and many places are cut off in Tyria that could be obtained in an expansion.
I really liked the fact you stayed in a guild with your whole account. Just one guild. Made the guilds alot more personal and fun, also guild halls, guild capes and ritualists.
Usually I’d agree about everythigng here but the guild setup in gw2 lets me run my own little guild with my friends and family and also be in a guild that focuses on dungeons/speedrunning and teaching the two (instead of trying to figure it out myself with only youtube and twitch for guidance)
Guild Halls, Capes, Build Templates, Alliance Battle sized pvp, HA, GvG (didn’t play it much but watched it a lot, which was awesome), hard mode dungeons with worthwhile loot, Named weapon drops off of specific monsters (I personally loved getting a weapon drop named after the monster i just killed), more dungeon specific loot that IS RNG (not just tokens), more useful skills (loved the large skill selection), elemental sword/IDS/eternal shield, Polymock, zaishen keys (or keys/lockpicks and chests in general. I was a chest mad man in GW1). Rollerbeetles
Polymock, hard mode, and the unique skins have my vote but I worry that Zaishen would become the same as BL Chests and would end up on the gemstore
Pandaren confirmed as the next playable race…
er…
I mean Skritt.Would be the worst development move ever.
Quaggan is waiting to occupy a character slot.
Tengu brah, tengu.
I just want direct face to face; it is more useful for me to trade for items and crafting ingredients since I’m trying t create legendaries and foefire weapons and item to gold to item wastes time and money for me
That said, I do think it is too transparent. Like when they destroyed LA, which was a banking/crafting/trading hub, and instantly put up an expensive temporary item on the gem store which allowed easy access to the very amenities that the LA destruction – surprise surprise – removed. It felt to me like the paper-thin story was the vehicle for the real content which was the gem store promotion.
It is a subscription model, just of a different kind. If I couldn’t convert gems into gold, I would rarely buy them at all.
Except one could argue that every capitol city has the same amenities that LA had. In fact, I find DR to be even more convenient than LA ever was. So I don’t really feel the destruction of LA and releasing an item that ports you to a convenient area as being that much of a driving force to the gem store.
Didn’t the royal terrace come out before the destruction of LA? For some reason I thought it did, which would make this all moot.
It did; for the Queen’s Gauntlet and Crown Pavilion Activities that happened just before the wave of Scarlet’s involvement. The only difference between LA and capitols is the Forge and it’s even back in LA now; it moved, but it’s still there.
I have abandoned the story line on almost every character now, I want MY story back, that’s what my guardian said in the beginning and that’s what i want to experience, my thief had it but I’m staying out of Orr until it is fixed.
Do you remember those titles that you could get that actually came with character buffs? Like the Ebon Vanguard title/rank that gave you Rebel Yell. THAT I would like to see again in some way.
Yes. WvW has some of that in your level and abilities but I’d love say an inquest or dungeoneering one to speed things along since I’ve already proven my mastery of the area.
Oh good point. In a sense WvW does have it already.
It would be nice to see similar rank systems setup for other areas of the game, as you said. PvE only though — I think PvP should remain untouched from this.
Oh of course, pvp’s cornerstone is about setting everyone on an even playing field and that would ruin it but say being able to equip an inquest slayer track when I roll a new asura woul be lovely; i’ve shown the game just how good i am at wrecking them and their golems, I’d like it to reward me for that effort ^^
I remember when Colin said in Manifesto “Everything what you love from gw1..” Looks like devs loved very different things then their player base:-)
They loved some vastly different things… let’s hope we ca convince them to love one or two more things again

I still petition for firefly to come back lol; I am not one to give up hope!
P1:
It could work out as Map Event, that a Guild could start.
Goal would it be for all players on the Map to get to the point of having killed all Monsters on the Map at least once. There would start a Monster Hunter Counter then together with a Time Counter and so faster the Map gets cleaned by the players on the Map, so better will be the reward for everoyne on the Map that helped. For Persistent maps thats the only way how Vanquishing will work in those kind of Maps.
Then there are Dungeons, Fractals and Living Story Instances, where a Vanquishing Mode could be added to give Players Extra Rewards, if they do their Runs will absolutely killing everythign in their Instance without any rushing, like for example doubling the amount of Dungeon tokens you get for the Path, doublign the amount of Gold that you get, giving Players at the successful end and extra reward Chest, that has increased chances for Ascened Weapon/Armor Chests and rewards players with T6 Mats and Lodestones once per Character/Day
—-What I also miss from GW1 are Heroes for Stuff like Dungeons, Living Story, Fractals. Would be so awesome, if we could hire our own Characters from our Account as Heroes to take them with us in our Party and have as Party Leader for them then special commands with that you coud give them orders what to do, while their A.I. lets them act automatically meanwhile based on a FF12 similar gambit system that tells the a.I. what to do in which situation based on how you configurated it for the A.I.
Together with the option to change positions with your Heroes to take over manually the control of them at any time. God that would be so awesomePlaying as your own full party of 5 of your own Accoutn Characters ^^
And then I miss the GW1 typical Buff Items, just cause of nostalgia I’d love to see them returning as crafting recipes.

Dear ANET; all of this please!
Body block at least on wvw plz!
Multi profession
Acess to every weapons
HA
Fort Aspenwood
Need Body Block so mch! I feel that they might start expanding weapons if they add more professions but multiprofession is something that sadly they wanted dead and gone
Where to begin? UW/FoW, Sorrow’s Furnace, Crystal Desert, and Ring of Fire Islands would be the top of my list. Loved all of these places and would very much like to see what the current devs would do with them. Bonus points if UW/FoW/Sorrow’s are dungeons, and you know they could do that.
Unfortunately unless they retcon the lore or let us beat down Dhumm we can’t have UW/FoW but Crystal Desert should be manageable if they make Palwaka Joko’s forces the main enemy, Ring of Fire would need us to get all the Orrian stuff out of the way but come on, Trahearne has had more than enough time to cleanse the place.
We have guild armor and weapons, and the clipping issues with capes have been spoken about before, so I really don’t think we’ll see capes ever in this game.
I’ll take the clipping since every other armour on my guardian or warrior clips with something else (SHIELDS T_T)
How about Cantha?
I have a feeling they are working their way to Cantha, maybe it’ll be the Living World chapter after next
IF ANYTHING…
They need to throw out that junk traitline system and put in the gw1 attribute/skill system. I still don’t understand how this could misunderstand gw1 so badly that we ended up with this failure of a trait system.
On top of that. Build and gear set saving.
Build and gear saving is essential and should be easy but I doubt we would see the attribute system because of the work it would take to get there, I’d love it back but it is a huge game change and I doubt they’d ever go for it.
Zone vanquishing.
I would agree but they’d have to change so much to add it in i don’t think they’d ever consider it except as private instances, maybe a guild challenge for orr or something.
Dyeable Weapons
Celestial Weapons (not the stats, the skins.)GW1 Armor and Weapon Skins in general…
The skins were super awesome and OH MY GOD how did I forget weapon dyes?!? Purple Chaos Axe ftw!
The guild capes. Definitely. I’d also like to see hirelings and heroes, but I don’t think the servers could handle it.
Maybe just one follower? Like a bannerman or something? I could go for that.
Exactly, just something to offset the lone gatherer routine or just for those offtimes when your friends list is empty and guildies are all offline
I would support it so long as it is only in a specified are; a dedicated spvp lobby or an isolated zone/separate instance in a city (like the crown pavilion is part of Divinity’s Reach but separate and not somewhere you just kinda wander into)
I will say that Guild Wars 2 is very different from Guild Wars 1, superior in most ways, but vastly different. There are things Guild Wars 1 did better and things Guild Wars 1 had that Guild Wars 2 should take or learn from, here is my list and I hope some of you add yours comment, etc. (gain a little traction and all that):
Mid-Sized PvP (think Jade Quarry, Fort Aspenwood or Alliance Battles, where it is objective based and discourages ’zerg’ing)
Guild Capes
Guild Vs Guild
Guild Halls (I see a pattern…)
Unique Dance Emotes for Different Professions
Hero’s Ascent
Many of the weapon and armour skins (though with the chaos and torment we are getting closer, good job on that one)
Useful NPC’s (seriously, what is with the npc attack speed? I get that I’m supposed to be the hero of the story but a lionguard or pact soldier attacking once every 5 seconds doesn’t feel like someone I want to save…)
Proper farming areas (though Anet doesn’t support the grind I feel like a few private instances like the old Underworld might be beneficial to some of us trying to catch up with the ascended equipment grind)
There are others I could add (like Heroes) but I am trying to limit myself to that which takes the least amount of work and doesn’t change basic fuctionality or any major game concepts.
