I still can’t find this NPC in the south west of mournful depths (supposedly on land) in Bloodtide Coast. While he seems to have vanished somewhere in a september patch, some “part” of him apparently made it back: When standing in the area, you randomly see him /saying “One thousand two hundred fifty -huh?” in chat, but hes nowhere to be seen.
Am I just too dumb to find him, or is he still broken?
The floating text numbers from rapid fire are cumulative damage. the first number you see reflects the damage from your first hit. the second the damage from your first and second hit, the third the damage from hit one to three, and so on. The last number shows the total damage the skill did. Now that you’ve realised this, switch back to short bow, and play the game happily ever after… :/
why would it be bugged on one server and not on another. They’re all using the same broken build.
Lately I’m experiencing a lot of lag when playing the game. It doesn’t seem to matter what kind of activity I’m doing, be it solo PvE, WvW or crafting for example. The lags come and go there’s times when the game runs very smooth and then times where I’m having up to one, two or even three seconds delay. Sadly, there’s no display of server latency so that’s the only quantification I get. Obviously, in some situations, this lag makes the game unplayable and I’ve had to quit WvW on several occasions due to it.
I’m not having any other programs chewing on my bandwidth, my ports are open since 1999 and in over ten years of mmo’ing, I’ve never had any latency problems in any game so bad.
Is everyone else’s running just fine? I’m also asking because I’m a Swisscom customer, and all of us were unable to even connect to the launcher two weeks ago, until it was fixed a day later. Maybe there’s still connection issues, or am I just having bad luck?
Attack of opportunity lets you deal 10% more damage to bleeding targets, according to the wiki. I haven’t got any experience with that, as I’m not even close to 60 yet.
I totally agree alot of tooltipping and general mechanic explanation needs more clarity in this game.
I have used spirits since I could get one. What I have found is they are squishy so I want to utilize them the most right as they get laid down. I drop frost and sun pop my ult and QZ and then swap pets right when QZ wears off. Just off of auto attacks people freak out. Usually have my short bow 5 right after to stop the incoming heal. And then it is over. A bit of set up but you can turn everything on while you are running. I only use spirits for burst because odds are I will be moving in a fight out of their range and they will be useless once someone glares at them wrong.
I love this burst build I feel like for 6 seconds or so it is the peak damage in game. then everything dies and I go back to being normal ranger. With pets able to hold someone down just long enough to get off a huge round of damage this build is the bomb.
How on earth are your pets “holding someone down” for 6 seconds, as you’re obviously referring to pvp situations? You must be facing some really dumb people. I’m generally drawn towards your way of using spirits, as it seems pretty much the only close-to-viable thing, but would think most smart opponents would have knocked down, interrupted, disabled and shred you in the 3 seconds you need to even drop the spirits and are doing ZERO damage.
I assume you’re using some kind of bow as weapon most of the time? I was just as confused first, because I observed the same problem as you, opening strike often just not proccing on my first attack. I even submitted a bug report. Then I read somewhere on these forums in a totally unrelated topic: Opening strike has a maximum range of 900.
Whenever your first attack is made from farther away (again, longbow FTL) it’s simply skimmed.
