I had a question about this, and maybe some one could enlighten me.
Ok, most MMO’s have some kind of ToS regarding language use – so what exactly is the point of being able to disable the profanity filter, or even having one?
If people aren’t allowed to swear, why allow them the option to see it or not?
That has always puzzled me in all the various MMO’s i’ve played, they always were against foul language, yet they always gave the option to show it..
color me confused…. lol
So which is faster in fixing a banned account....?

I must say the GM who looked into my account and unlocked it was very professional, apologetic, and understanding. you could genuinely tell he or she cared.

I got a response from the CSR!
Apparently my account has been restored – too bad im stuck at work and cant check it lol
Good luck to all those still in this situation, I truly feel your pain and remember your options!Restored or unbanned?
Unbanned, and I am also assuming when i do get to log on my toons are either deleted or naked. Either way I really dont care. So long as I can play again the stuff is just stuff and can/will be replaced. The main issue has been fixed, and thats all that matters.
Could you provide details on when you submitted tickets….what the headings were so we can gauge approx the time everyone will have to wait…thanks.
I sent my first ticket in last friday aug. 31st and revised my ticket to their specs (found in the sticky at the top of the forums) on Sat. Sep. 1st.
hope that gives you some kind of timetable to expect – but its very random in my opinion – they said they cleared all tickets sent on the days I had my tickets in even though i never received a response so my ballpark guess would be 4-7 day turn around….but thats just a guess.

Yaaaa…no.
that would definitely mean a new email address and a stupid strong password i would have to write down because i would never remember it in a million years.
I was already able to change my password on my existing email account, and my GW2 account to something much much stronger and unique.
But seeing as the wait has been so long to fix my problem, and knowing im not alone in the “hurry up and wait” customer service policy – its looking more like refund+new account=playing again rather than sitting back and watching my wife play the game and checking my email for that elusive response from CSR dept. lol

How is it fraud to get a refund?
A refund at this point is 100% valid.
You pay for a service, and if you don’t receive the service you paid for, you have every right to request a refund.
Just sayin..

oh yes, option #3 – and a very valid option at this point.
And I plan on contacting my credit card company today and see what the process is for initiating a charge back/refund.
I how ever, really enjoy the game, and would like to get back into it. I feel foolish after telling all the gamer geeks in my office how this was the smoothest launch for a mmo i have ever been involved with, convince them to buy the game only days later to have all hell break loose with security issues, broken functionality and other various gremlins in the machine.

So, I read something on these forums yesterday that made fantastic sense.
Those waiting since last week to get a response from customer support regarding there hacked/banned accounts for “real world trading of items for real money”.
And im not talkin about those banned for exploits, chat offenses or other obvious issues against the ToS. Im strictly talkin about those of us who have had there accounts compromised, and subsequently perma-banned.
So, which is faster…
Continue to wait for a response from customer support.
or…
Contact your credit card company, initiate a charge back refund, re-buy the game and start over.
Option #2 becomes more and more appealing every day that goes by for those of us with hacked and banned accounts for days and days on end with no response.
What do you guys think?

My account was hacked, and subsequently banned for “realworld money trading” – I put in 2 tickets on friday and one on saturday and still nothing. Please could someone at least look at my ticket? I am hoping this gets resolved, but it seems like everytime i get my hopes up and check my email, and see nothing its beginning to make me think im kind of screwed. I dont really want to have to buy the game again, that would suck, and make my wife mad lol
Please if any support peoples who read these could just take a look and fix my issue that would be fantastic, or even say something, tell me whats wrong and how i can fix this.
I haven’t ever been involved in any real world trading of items for real money, and its such a drag to have my account perma banned for such when i did nothing wrong. I played on thursday night, went to work friday, came home from work and was banned.
Please if someone could have a look and tell me what can be done that would be awesome.

When I got home from work last friday my account was “banned”.
I have been waiting since i got home from work last friday to get a response and have this cleared up so i could play with my wife. Please if you guys could take a look at these tickets and get me back into the game i would appreciate it.
On friday Aug. 31st I sent in these two tickets;

Then on Saturday Sep. 1st when I read how you would like support tickets formatted correctly i sent this one in.
Incident:120902-001421
When I try to log in it says I was banned for realworld trading or something, I did not do this. I have 142 saved emails from the authenticator from someone in various chinese cities trying to login to my account. I have since changed my email password, and my GW2 account password to something unique and much stronger, please take a look at my tickets at your earliest convenience as I am tired of watching my wife play and would like to get back in the game with her
