Quick heads up: I by no means, am the best person for this, however I figured I’d throw in my two cents. If any of this is completely off, feel free to correct me.
I’m not quite sure you’ll get anything close to the cannon engineer (such a fun setup).
Onto having a melee/magic hybrid. Guardian will be your best bet as it is pretty much THE class for that type of gameplay. However, you can go with, as you mentioned, the D/D Ele. You could also go with a Dagger Necro or a melee mesmer (can’t remember the exact weapons they use as I haven’t really played one).
I think that if you want to stick with a melee/magic hybrid though just don’t re-roll. Everything else will be either more magic oriented and survive better at a range, or more physical oriented and be able to be up-close and personal.
Hello all. These may be a pretty common forum post around, but I’m in need of a bit of help.
A little background. I played the game through betas, up through all of Season 1 but stopped at the end as I just found the living story to not be enough to keep me sustained. Now that I’m returning, I’m finding it really difficult to understand/know what exactly has happened and is going on.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

It’s an interesting idea but I don’t think that this would work. From my experience in other games that tried to implement in game voice chats, it NEVER worked out properly. It always had some sort of static, and it was near impossible to hear people. As for the picture idea, I think that this may add something unique to the game that I can’t think any game has done. But as you stated, it seems a little too complicated.
Alright well I know this has probably already been done but I was wondering if I should go with an Asuran warrior or guardian as the title states. I know that I want to play a heavy armor class and just wasn’t sure on which. I only have humans at the time and want to try a different race, any suggestions would be much appreciated!
