Showing Posts For Silvri.1273:
When using a /wiki command of the form
/wiki gw1:[query]
the command will attempt to go to a page directly by name rather than running a search.
For example,
/wiki gw1:kilroy stonekin
will generate a URL of the form
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Kilroy_stonekin
rather than generating
http://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?search=kilroy%20stonekin
This causes problems in that the generated URL will not be likely to go to the page a user would be expecting, instead going to a sort of wiki approximation of a “page not found” page.

You’d think it’d be easy to tell a charr from a non-charr, but she had to ask me for help.
Thanks for the constructive answers. I figured it might be as much. I suppose it’d be good performance in that this laptop just needs to play it better than my other one. Which has a Radeon HD 5470 and manages to play just above minimum at 720p despite less power than an Intel HD 4000.
I have my desktop for the real eye candy. What’s interesting is that there doesn’t seem to be a linear graphics quality scaling with GPU power, it looks like it’s all in, or near nothing.
Spell effects/ zergs would tank a mobile i5 as it only has 2 cores + hyperthreading, giving it much less power than the mobile i7 I have my eye on, which should be about as powerful as my desktop i5.
As for graphics, the problem with comparing against an NVIDIA chip is that NVIDIA likes to optimize for 3D Mark more than AMD, making benchmarking with the game a better indicator of performance.
You see, I’m not looking to optimize price/performance ratio, I simply want to know if the laptop I’m considering for its touchscreen, for my family, incidentally also performs well in GW2.
Looking at buying a VAIO E series. I will be going with an i7 3632QM to avoid bottlenecking things on that end. What I want to know is what graphics settings I’ll be able to hit in areas outside of Lion’s Arch/WvW during non-zergy play. I was hoping someone knows how well it runs at 1600×900 that has a 7670m.
Thanks for any answers anyone can give, I know it can be a little hard to find someone with a specific setup.
Your charr’s butt is not deserving of the full model, unlike that human and her cute butt. No seriously. The weapon models differ a little bit for each race, with the main difference being scaling. It looks like ANet just missed a spot. Seeing as you posted this in the bug forum, it has probably been put on a todo list somewhere by an ANet employee. Like the wait for the tummy seam on the winged set to be fixed (thanks ANet), it will just take waiting on your part. Sorry there’s not much else you can do for no.

I find that this improves my experience greatly, the ground now takes up less of the screen, the max zoom-out level is increased, and I can see more of the higher up scenery, giving me a renewed appreciation for art I didn’t see as much of before. This, or something very similar should be permanent.
Jon, thanks for the update. It’s always nice to hear new from you guys on controversial topics like this. As for the rest of you posters, Don’t Panic. ANet still listens more than any other game company I’ve known.
There’s also some conflicting information about the origin of the asura krewe here. The conversation claims that they’re Durman Priory, but the Lionguard running the haven says that they aren’t. It seems the NPCs don’t fully know what this krewe is doing here or where they’re from.
At Caledon Haven there is a conversation about an asura researching the ruins there. When asked he won’t give any information about what he’s working on. Furthermore, there is a conversation that the NPCs nearby have about the asura that shows up in the chatbox. I’ve played this game long enough to know that generally only event-related or otherwise important NPC conversations will actually show up there. Is this a hint that there’s some secret content there?
The ruins themselves are called the “Ruins of the Unseen.” If there’s more content here, it’s possibly Mursaat related. If anyone has found anything more, please share.
I’ve seen a few hints wandering the city, but haven’t found an entrance in the city after wandering for a couple of hours. I was wondering if anyone knows if they are even a playable area.
