Sooo… Your answer is more server stacking? You can’t forcefully spread your coverage around the clock as people have real life commitments such as work, studies or maybe even family.

“You can’t forcefully spread your coverage around the clock” That’s true. We, the players, we can’t. But Anet can and should and MUST do it quick. It’s the only way to achieve balance: (close to) same numbers for all servers — in every timezone.
Don’t even name a server here, it’s irrelevant. If every server must die, so be it… but without balance WvW will die surely, while there is no competition at all. There can’t be compromises: balance comes first, rest pales in comparison.
Also one rule for everyone – no discrimination. Adjusting point ticks based on number of fights, or similar, that’s fine. Based on a timezone? No.
Totally agree with the above…except would like to add that with the new Server pairing and increase in numbers we have more larger Zerg like combat and less small group combat…any system based on fights would need to look the consequence of making small group combat even less popular and create an environment whereby we see even less useful builds in WvW.
IMHO the people crying out for Time-of-US-Day based scoring (something Anet will simply not do, it’s illogical to think this is a good solution) need to put a bit more thought in to their arguments/solutions.

nah i never done anything illegal in games nor even cheated in a game (over 30 years playing) but then i play for fun not as a means for alternate RL income earning, and i know of at least 5 ppl in my Guild who have played GW2 for ages, are legit and have over 100,000 gold…i also know 2 peeps legit who have well over a million.
End of the day i don’t care, just know of heaps peeps who annoyed with limit and I obviously don’t agree with the bullkittene approach of blanket reactive limits for trying to deal with security issues.
Idk smiling if its a revenue thing although I’m sure they wouldn’t have done it IF it affected their revenue stream in a negative way.
No-one would accept their bank putting a $500 limit on transfers.
hmm I doubt the majority of players in the game are Gold Sellers but whatever, if you’re stupid enough to think such a measure is acceptable then I guess it is no surprise you have never been inconvenienced by Gold limits Suppose its a matter of perspective.
While we are on the subject though, it would also be nice to up the limit in Guild Bank from 1000 Gold as well.
hmm yes well I said “stupid” because it is stupid and lazy…its punishing the many to limit the damage of a few in a reactionary measure. Ever noticed that your country has heaps more laws and workplace heaps more policies making life so much more difficult than it used to be? Of course Anet’s concern prob RL $ so as long as doesn’t affect that then not “stupid” from their perspective maybe.
As to TP, yeah i think its great having the TP (as opposed to GW1 and none), be nice to be able to trade as well without it tho.
I see that all this has been mentioned in that thread anyways so just asking Anet to review as after all the value of gold in this game changes over time. But if they need to keep a Gold trading limit because their security is so bad then I guess they won’t be changing it (hopefully is has gotten better over time? idk).

which it does so needs changing. Also putting such a blanket limit as a reactionary solution to Gold Sellers and Fraud is just stupid and lazy , they should be proactive.
Simply put can Anet pls lift or remove the 500gold (a week!) limit on sending gold to other players. Its annoying for delegating stuff in guild and guildies trading items outside of using TP. I’m sure its there for some stupid reason like dealing with gold sellers or cheaters or something but is just a nuisance for legit players.

I have same experience as OP in main. What i want to know is why do i need to queue for 4-5 mins most the time BUT then sometimes can get in to a match in 20 secs? That would seem to point to the system not being optimized at all.
The problem i have with playing my thief as main is that to be effective I was limited to build and playstyle , more so than my other class’s. I have not played it since HoT so not sure re DD what is brought to the table BUT…..from my observations re thief.
Thief takes more skill to play effectively than prob most other class’s imho and YES there are alot of crappy ones out there because of this. When I see couple thieves on enemy team I always keep an eye out paranoid that they might be good ones which imho is one of the most dangerous opponents but most time they not.
So my question here is….DO they really need buffed if good thieves can be a most feared opponent? Or do they just need more build options (I certainly thought so pre HoT)? Or do ppl just truly need to l2p (I hate saying that but do they?)…idk
This is not really an issue if you have a power build around. But on Pure 1×1, condi builds are done.
Wow, it’s like complaining that you can’t kill 1v1 Bunker Guard/Druid with Bruiser.
It’s team game, you aren’t supposed to do everything on your own with any build.
Think you missing the point or perhaps the scale of things.
The Condition builds aren’t just having problems killing the Diamond Skin player, they can’t even get him to stay below 90% health
My biggest issue here is that the skill exists in its current form and I don’t see why as it IS yet another step towards limiting build variety.
One of the vocal posters here feels that Bunker Ele is only viable build for them..look at Meta Site and yes its Tempest with Diamond Skin. I never run Meta Builds myself prefering to do my own builds that i find fun to play…..we need to move away from sooo many people running Meta and feeling trapped in it.
hmmm this isn’t a Thread about whether we should have condition damage in the game Sup, so not sure why you attacking peeps for not PROVING that it should be.
You maybe feel that ALL condition builds simply spam a skill against you but i can assure you that is not the case Of course if you didn’t have Diamond Skin you would HAVE to learn to play against Condition players and learn. Some of your assertions btw are more than a little over-the-top.
So Diamond skin prevents you from winning a 1v1 with a full condi build? I have yet to die in a 1v1 on my bunker ele against most classes, physical or condi, thats why its a bunker ele.
To answer your question roelvanesch, yes, that is exactly what has been said above and also in numerous other threads…Diamond Skin prevents you winning a 1v1 with full condi build.
As to your second sentence I am at a loss as to what it is you are saying here? That because you believe can’t be killed as a Bunker Ele by ANY class that Diamond Skin being OP should not be addressed? Not sure of that logic or the arrogance of such a statement.
My point tho as per my first post is that Diamond Skin is just an excellent example for raising concern as to where Devs are heading with this game.

Yeah, the only viable Tempest build in PvP is a bunker build with no damage. You know what that means? It means after a while people will scream “Ele sustain is too high” just like D/D Ele and request it to be nerfed. We will then end up with no build.
I’d rather have the healing scale gets a nerf, the base sustain on weapon gets a buff, and Tempest damage gets a buff so we’re not pigeon holed into bunker.

That player feels this way is just sad imho, and shows something is wrong here with the system. Players shouldn’t feel that there is only One VIABLE build for a class in PVP?! He doesn’t want to be pigeon holed in to this build…what happens when a patch makes it not viabl? When Anet do their 3 monthly Meta change and he’s Pigeon holed
in to a new build which he hates the playstyle of?
Take an extreme view, which would you rather see -
System A – Players just click one button choosing premade Class/Setup and enter match..all Ele’s, all Thieves etc exactly same. Every three months Anet changes this setup.
System B – Players can make their own build and have dozens of viable build options to engage in PVP. Anet actively works to balance skills/class’s.
We seem to be heading in direction of System A, which would you rather see?
Where are you getting 1.7k from? Is that from one of the few viable Ele Meta builds?
You realise that Condi builds usually are about wearing opponents down over time not a burst? That Diamond Skin is not an applied skill that has cooldown? That someone taking that Trait will play and build to keep health up and over that 90%?
To say just do 1.7K then its sorted shows that you not aware at all of how this skill works or plays.
Sorry deception but you are wrong saying that its a l2p issue and that diamond skin is far from OP vs a condi class….everything being equal (player skill wise etc) they are immune, can’t be killed thus the ppl complaining. You can argue that its fine to HAVE to call for someone to help OR simply to not run a condition build but making you immune to conditions and unable to be killed by a pure condition build is OP. Argue as ya like whether it is acceptable or needs to be changed.
Not sure about the theory of using others players to help you kill ppl with Diamond Skin if you mainly run with Condition damage on ya build.
Could be a cunning plan by Devs to ensure co-operation in PVP but then where is ….

The disturbing thing about this tho is not just the skill itself but what was going through the dev’s minds? What we need, what the game promised initially was Build Diversity and with this skill (and others) we see less and less of it.
When developing and tuning Build Diversity should be one of the foremost thoughts in Dev’s minds, don’t put skills or mechanisms in the game that lessen it.
Simply a placement error on devs part I’m sure but can we please have this fixed.
A whole map for a Jumping Puzzle….seems like a lot of effort for very little…must be an awesome puzzle (I looked at it but you can only do so many jumping puzzles before its gets really boring).
Unlike the dungeon this seems a very boring and pointless addition to the game…..you can get much better loot/rewards elsewhere for a fraction of the effort/pain.
Hopefully we are only seeing a fraction of the map and a large underground area will open up in a few hours with cool loot?!

Why do Anet constantly close threads that are only hour or two old with “thanks for your feedback” but never respond to them themselves and address issues raised in this threads and answer the questions?
I post a thread asking what the point of the new PVE Lost Shores map is, seems strange as has no reason for people to play there…maybe I’m missing something really important…people responded, useful responses however thread was shutdown in 2 hours with NO Customer Service feedback or answers to questions.

Sorry should clarify..I was meaning the PVE Map in Sea of Sorrows…like the dungeon (well HATE certain parts of it but well done) however I just don’t get the PVE map…everyone in my guild I talk to says, “um Passionfruit and Vials Blood..pointless really”.
I’m sure I/we are missing something as it seems crazy to go to all the effort of creating a zone and having people visit it for 30 minutes and never go back.
I can get twice as many drops/Gold/karma with 1/2 the effort elsewhere….tis a small map with harder mobs and nothing to make it rewarding effort wise.
Why would you/I ever want to go there?
I lost 5 Gold sending Mail Reply….I NEVER type name…have lost a few mail (way too high really) but the killer is that support claim they have no way of tracking recovering mail and are unwilling/unable to help.
Warning..use In-game mail at your own risk, which is a very real one.
Couple days ago I sent 5 Gold to a friend using reply to mail, he didn’t get it…I have done this numerous times (sent mail this way) and no problem. I checked everything out and can only assume it got “lost” somehow.
Logged ticket and went through the support process…pointless exercise as they (as always with this game) respond saying that they are unable/unwilling to do anything about it.
Supposedly not only do we have no way to track mail, neither do they….considering that they have limited our in-game item trading to either TP or Mail this seems crazy stupid to me.
I am now super paranoid about using the in-game mail system to send anything and yet what options are there?

TP sucks imho however my major gripe is that the only way I have to send items to people is via in-game mail which has No Outbox and fails at times with no comeback…..I often get stuff in mail from people accidentally…I am paranoid and never type a persons name but do it via menu or reply and still lose stuff…I lost 5 gold other day..Anets attitude (same as with ANY job/fault logged)…..we don’t have the resources to do anything to help you.
Anet’s service/support is terrible and having limited 1/2 arsed trade systems just exasperate the problem.

Well if you think you are “doing ok” then you need a quick sharp reality check…try playing the game…you are not “doing ok”, the situation is “Not Acceptable”…nothing “ok” about it.
You have a GM team? whats does your acronym mean? Not what I or the gaming community are used to surely…I have never seen a GM in game, have no way of contacting one in game nor seen evidence of their work in game….we have dozens of bots sitting at locations round-the-clock , sticking out like sore thumbs…be an easy job for a GM to identify them (unless he/she is blind/a bot/or non-existant).
So how about…
(1) Keeping the communication lines open with regular updates on this (and other) cirtical matters
(2) Acknowledge that the situation is “Not Acceptable”, therefore “not ok”, nor are you “doing ok”
(3) Getting a solution in place in a “timely” manner…no excuses around “second guessing” or “ensuring it works in an effective and efficent manner”.
If you as a player haven’t been affected by bots then lucky you..they are causing huge issues for 1000’s of players across the game though , not to mention what they do the in-game economy, the people whose credit cards these people steal etc etc…
Anet say its a major concern, cool! however its their perception on their performance to date and completely lackluster efforts to date that have me worried.
Certainly seems that way….people assume that and given the lax attitude so far from Anet re actually actively dealing with the ever increasing Bot problem it’s easy to see why.
The stickied Bot Thread here has been closed for three weeks with no updates….Bott’ing in this game has been getting worse by the day….in some areas there are now more Bots active than Players and Enemies combined!!

Loving it so far myself, hearing all sorts of positive comments from players. Only negative thing I heard is from some people re the chests but heaps of those skins on the AH cheap so easy to get.
Having played numerous MMO’s I’m impressed with the effort gone in to this first festive event and looking forward to see what the next stages contain (oh and Christmas )
Also good work on the costumes and skins etc for Halloween. I found the skins/models on the existing armour/weapons a real mixed bag but these new ones getting better.

Agree that there is not enough re Gold sinks in this game….its kinda weird, the whole “we want everything now, cheap, fair, easy” mentality means that we have an environment where there is nothing worthy in the game that costs a great deal….the ppl with a heap of gold (usually the people who always want more gold) have little choice but to drive up the prices of the little there is worthy of buying/selling in the game.

Not following what your issue is here.
As mentioned by other ppl posting in this thread….a new player now gets more in game Gold for Gems now…so they win if using this method to get $ for in-game economy.
Frankly GW2 has very little that a player needs to spend money on…..its not hard to get enough money to teleport around and repair and fit out 3-4 toons with Exotic Gear…food is crazy cheap…what else is there? Probably only gold sink of significance is siege gear for WvW.
Bizarre thread…original post is a person complaining that Guild Wars 2 which he/she uses as an escape from reality is not meeting their expectations due to having an economy which reminds them of their own financial woes…?
I’d suggest perhaps your expectations were either unrealistic or inappropriate, or that you simple chose the wrong game…either way the issue/problems sits with you.
Of course if you have a considered opinion with regards to improvements to economy within the game then by all means lets hear it
There is no latency indicator in the game, can one please be added….having one is a big help for WvW/PVP, critical really! That we don’t have one is crazy.
The once a week Server Reset unstucks them..lasts 24-40 hours then they bug out again. Anet need a jolly good kick re this, so slack at fixing the problems…some been like this since launch. Having active GM’s to kick-start stuff would make sense, either that or get to working fixing these bugs.
Anet say GW2 Team is 10 times size of GW1 Team? must have been a very small team…perhaps one individual with multiple personalitys.

Anet aren’t quick to the party at all re fxing stuff…looking at simple things like BLands Puzzle Door vaults broken week+, PVE DE’s constanly buggin out a day after Server reset (some since launch)….I don’t think WvW is necessarily low on their list they just not very quick/active with resolving issues.
Re the population problem you have, you’re lucky imho…IF you really DO have some good Commanders in the field then let people know this and pull players across…Server have heap of people who’d love to play WvW with 1/2 decent Commanders….easier getting people than good Commanders.
NSP has some great smaller groups in WvW and good/keen PVPers but our Commanders are terrible No communication at all and bad leadership all round.
DH seem to have better tactics, tend to win more evenly matched battles due to better leadership.
Commanders who don’t/can’t actually command troops is the biggest problem in WvW and common across many HomeWorlds…sure you need a certain number of players and good spread across different timezones BUT the Commander problem is the biggest barrier to winning.
Look, people complain about “The Zerg” etc and how WvW is based around the large roaming group etc….I like to run with big group sometimes but like that I can run with one or two mates and achieve objectives as we like to help the cause…prefer to do this. My machine isn’t awesome at all…runs 60 Frames PVE…30-35 WvW BUT in those terrible moments drops to < 5 Frames and yup it sucks….however rather have that than not being able to see enemies as I NEED to know whether its 2 or 5 people….I think from talking to people that it seems to affect different systems/setups more than others…I have a mate who although gets slightly less FPS than me usually seems to get better visiblity with this Invisibility problem and so I get him to confirm numbers all the time when I run with him. We both live bottom of the planet so also have high latency to deal with..all in all the Invisibility is just the straw that breaks the camels back.
I don’t like this Invisibility…Do Not think its a solution..personally would rather have the terrible <5 FPS….but of course would rather have more sensible solutions put in place.

Terrible post….forget trying to justify it and trying to speak on the issue as if you work for ArenaNet.
Having invisible enemies is terrible for running less than a large group…I never sure whether I’m about to engage 2 or 5 people and that really matters (life and death).
I’m glad you are getting better frame rate but the methodolgy employed here is TERRIBLE…I’d fire the person who let it get implemented on the live system.
With bugged events getting worse (more bug out sooner after Server reset now) and the incredibly stupid fubar with WvW its hard to play this game at the moment at level 80…..lack of communication and activity around critical patching/bug fixes is making the GW2 Dev Team their own worst enemy.
Why are there so many stuck events?? Am I just to stupid to figure out how to make em work?

No you are not stupid….its getting rediculous, at the moment in Cursed Shore there are probably more events bugged than functioning, one area has 5 events bugged and only one working…..it will stay like this until next server reset…pathetic support in this game…really poor.
Try grabbing some gear at ya level (even cheap Greens)…I’ve solo’d Orr full map completion on 4 toons different classes and not had a problem, looking above I;d say you might need better gear or maybe just not used to PVE? (thought PVP would be harder tho).
Getting worse since launch , not sure how one would justify/explain it so please fix.
I was playing WvW and got annoyed with my usual 60 FPS dropping to < 5 in sieges so jumped to Cursed Shore to PVE….found 2 Events that were working and 4 that were bugged out….this is hardly new but getting worse….either pull finger and fix these please or reboot Server/Zones every 12 hours (events tend to bug out < day after outage).
There are events ALL over the zones that have been bugging out regularly since launch…..if you are not going to have contactable GM’s in game who can kickstart content then you need to be more on the ball with fixing this stuff.
