Guild Wars 2

I’m doing the personal storyline mission ‘The Battle of Claw Island’ and, I’ve got to the part where you are supposed to kill the Risen Deadship with the trebuchets. I can’t fire them though. If I use them I get the action bar skill to fire or move in either direction but, no mater which way it is pointing, I can’t fire it. It just says ‘You cannot fire the weapon in that direction’.

Edit: I should say, I am talking about the trebuchet nearest the ship, I can’t use the other one during this stage of the mission.

This obviously blocks me from doing the mission. I’ve googled and I’m certainly not the only one with this problem. This seems really shoddy.

What’s worse, this has been reported before on this forum here but, the answer gives a fix that is completely irrelevant to the problem (how can you release the treb when your shot is in the air if it won’t let you fire it) suggesting the ANet poster hasn’t read the post properly and is talking about yet another known bug.

I’ve spent a lot of money on GW2 gems and, I’d like to play this game but, if things like this are going to stop me, I’ll just find another MMO to spend the hundreds of pounds a year, that I spend on whatever I’m playing, on. Shoddy QA like this and shoddy support like that in the thread I linked will kill the game.

I love this idea. I would be more likely to make an effort to collect all of the skins in the game if the cost of using enough skin salvage kits wasn’t too high (they’d have to be roughly the same price as a transmute stone per use for me to use them) and, there was a achievement or just blanked out spaces in the vendor to track which you don’t have yet.

That is a shame. It seems silly to me to make armour skins unique unless they are a specifically hard to get item (like a legendary item or a reward from a really significant quest), especially without it being obvious at the time. There are already a lot of identical looking pieces of armour dropping and from vendors so, it might be nice if they added this skin to drops and vendors too so that there is a bit more variety. Anyway, hopefully they’ll do that at some point in the future.

I got this (the link has a code you can paste in the game chat so you can preview it) as a reward from the lvl 39 personal story mission ‘Mightier than the Sword’ (though, I think it comes from any of the last missions of the lvl30-40 arc involving the orders). It’s quite a bit better than what I was using so, I want to equip it but, I don’t like how it looks so, I would like to transmute it. That said, I don’t want to transmute it if I won’t ever be able to get that skin again in case I decide it looks good with some other bit of armour. Does anyone know if it is possible to get another piece of armour that has the same skin another way?

I tried looking for her in the home district instance and Captain Thackery’s office right after the mission where you save her, before going to meet the Queen. I didn’t find her in either place. For the record, I was also a commoner – she definitely wasn’t in the inn. I think she just doesn’t appear (although she may pop up later in the story somehow). It’s kind of a shame really.
