Wow, thanks a lot for your time and advice. I really appreciate it.

And thanks to others for the suggestions too.

I guess I’ll try the “-copydat” command line first, hopefully it will improve a few things.

Nothing comes close to Greatsword for PvE...

I spent quite some time testing and timing the dps on different weapons and came to the conclusion that axes deal the greatest amount of damage with normal autoattacks. The greatsword is just too slow, in the time it takes for it to do 10,000 damage, the axes will do double.

Has anyone else looked into this?

Hi,

The loading times for map zones are ridiculous. It currently takes around 30 seconds to 4-5 minutes to load, depending on how close the waypoint is – the closer it is the faster it seems to load.

I was advised ingame that the problem either lies with HDD or Ram. However, my desktop is relatively new, so I doubt that that’s the issue. Defragmenting is to no avail either, as I’m always at 0% fragmented on all drives.

Personally, I think it may be to do with the fact that I’m still using the same client from closed stress tests/BWEs. Since then, I haven’t redownloaded the client or changed anything; I don’t know if we were supposed to. The whole GW2 Folder at the moment is at 17.5GB, on disc. Maybe I don’t have the full game content downloaded?

Someone ingame also briefly mentioned “Command Line Arguments”, specifically “-image”. I’m not sure how this works, but it didn’t seem to do the trick.

I’m also having relatively low fps, somewhere in the region of 10-60fps on the lowest possible settings and around 7-40fps on the highest settings. Has the game not been optimised for my setup yet? Or is this kind of framerate the standard for the likes of my PC?

I’d be very grateful if someone could provide some helpful suggestions and advice.

System specs:

ATI Radeon HD 5770 @ 2GB (12.8 Beta / Graphic Driver)
AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core (4 CPU’s @ 2.2GHz)
4GB Ram
1680 × 1050 Screen Resolution
Windows 7, x64 bit

Thank you.

Are Traits even working?

Hi,

Well, I’m currently playing a warrior (lvl 74) and it just feels like the traits aren’t working.

For example, the trait “Warrior’s Sprint” (Run faster while wielding melee weapons) has no noticeable effect at all (and yes, I’m melee). There’s no buff icon indicating how much faster I’m running or whether it’s even active or not. Would be really helpful if there were additional stats such as Movement speed and Magic Find – why haven’t they been included in the game?

Same goes for traits such as “Blade Master” (Increases your critical-hit chance with a sword by 10%), “Berserker’s Power” and “Hightened Focus”, which are meant to increase damage/critical hit chance based on the level of adrenaline. However, when I wield a sword, or build up my adrenaline, there’s no indication at all of gaining those trait bonuses – my stats remain the same in the Hero panel. There’s just no sign of them being active.

I’ve also messed around with the trait line “Defense” (toughness and healing) and no matter how many points I add to it, it just doesn’t seem to make much of an impact. I still take as much damage as I do with 0 points invested into it.

So can someone please explain to me what’s going on with the traits? Am I missing something?

It would also be nice to hear from more experienced warriors regarding their trait allocation and play styles, because at the moment it feels like my progression damage/defense wise has been linear since level one – traits or no traits, feels the same.

Thank you.
