Just wanted to give an update. It seems I finally solved my disconnect problem. And, I apologize to Guild Wars, it was not their fault. I get my ISP service from Time-Warner Cable. The modem that they use is made by Arris and incorporates a simple firewall. I keep firewalls on my systems and didn’t realize that the modem/router provided by TW had this feature. Anyway, when I adjusted that firewall I was able to clear up the problem. Now my game is super steady. I hope this helps someone else. Do not assume that your provider’s equipment may not be misconfigured if you are having a disconnect problem.

I have had the DC problem ever since getting on shortly after game release. It has gotten better, and worse, at various times. I have tried everything to resolve the issue at my end including remove security, checking routers, firewalls, etc. Yesterday the problem ceased and I thought I had licked it with my latest change, my wife and I got through two instances. But, today it is back with a vengeance. I am fairly convinced that my changes had little to do with it. I am a network engineer by trade, if I can help, let me know.
