I know what an achievement is. It’s right clicking a bunch of dead bodies until they get all their green stuff back. It’s leveling all the professions via the Trading Post. It’s clicking the supply depot, and right clicking ‘just the right spot’ on a wall a whole bunch of times. These achievements even give titles, ooh, ahh. Such skill required for these achievements.

I don’t have any issue with them nerfing the content, or keeping the content the same really. I think it’s hilarious people pretend any of this content is hard. You know what hard content is? What a true achievement would be? Every single time you die on any attempt through any tier, you go back to the first boss on the first tier.

The rest of this prattle is just a whole bunch of, “Let’s pretend this is a challenge so we can act like it’s accomplished!” Big fish little pond syndrome, imo. Time to go out into the ocean.

Queen's Jubilee is ruining Open World.

That could solve the problem: make a level 80 character get level 80 loot regardless of where that character is in the game (rather than getting say lv12 drops most of the time, with maybe a 1/10 chance for level-appropriate loot). If the concern is a drying up in the supply of items for levelling on TP, then make it optional: when you spawn in a zone you get a one-time choice of ‘level loot’ or ‘zone loot’ which is active until you leave the zone or relog (so basically the same way Hard Mode worked in GW1).

Wait…I get plenty of level appropriate loot in lower level areas (close to 50% I would estimate). Now they are NOT ALL my exact level but are nearly always within 2 or 3 levels. If I am missing something in what you are suggesting, please enlighten me.

The most prevalent thing that would need scaling from this situation would be the bags that are dropped. You will see level 80 white, blue, and green items a lot of the time when killing a level 40 mob or whatever, but what you won’t see is a Heavy Loot Bag that can drop Tier 6 materials.

I personally don’t agree with the notion that they should switch this around though, because low level areas would become massive zerg farms for tier 6 bags. The only people you’d see in the end game zones would be the Orch/Omnomberry farmers.

I find it hilariously sad that one would subject themselves to such levels of boredom for something as simple as game gold. If you’re that desperate for game gold… buy it. In other words, get a job.

According to GW2 Spidy, currently it costs $0.55 for 1g.

If you can farm gold at 20g/hour, you’d need to find a job that pays more than $11/hour net pay in order to make it worthwhile. Minimum wage right now is $7.25/hour gross pay.

Assuming a vaccuum where you have the choice between working a job for gold or farming for gold, farming the arena is actually the more efficient method unless you can make the breakpoint salary.

Also, don’t take this as me defending the OP. (S)He’s a jerk like the rest of the farmers who yell at people to “stop ruining my area”.

I understand your point, and happen to make well over 11 dollars an hour as base wages, plus overtime, so I also understand it’s a bias on my part regarding that. What I don’t understand is if one needs to farm the gauntlet in order to obtain gold because it’s the only viable way to do it while reaching a maximum amount of profit, why would they take precious time away to complain about it on a forum. Bad business sense all around. Find a better job, or farm more effectively. Complaining one way or the other about unfair economies or the stress of having to wait for a queue confounds me.

Just completed this in a pug from LFG. Profession makeup was a DS Necro, Guardian, me (Zerker warrior Axe/Mace+GS 30/0/0/10/30) SB Ranger, and a Mesmer.

The DPS was solid, but it really all came down on the Mesmer and Guardian timing their shields properly. I’ve been running this place non stop, easily over two dozen times in the past three days or so. I’ve run it with pugs, with guildies, with more pugs, and more guildies. The past attempts just couldn’t get the timing down well enough. We did have about five seconds where we had to dodge out of poisons because of CD’s or an error, I’m not sure which. We just ran in one circle around the boss, met back up, and re-shielded. All of us but the Mesmer ended up dying on the last few hits.

It’s definitely doable. Just find two to three people who will shield, and who are willing to build around it, and time it properly. It’s just that simple.
