Guild Wars 2

Is there any reliable way to make gold solo? I don’t mean completely solo, I can do world bosses and events etc. I just don’t want to have a dedicated party of players, I’d like to jump in and out of the game on my own pace and make gold along the way.

So that kind of throws Fractals and dungeons out of the question. I have tried doing world bosses but nothing of value higher than 50 silver has ever dropped for me. I also guess jumping puzzles cannot drop anything good at all no matter your luck. Gathering does not make gold. Everything I can buy with map specific currency from vendors is account bound. Silverwastes farming makes 2g/hour at best and it is not very fun.

So what do people do to make gold in this game? I could stay one hour longer at work, buy gems with € and get as much gold as I get from a full month of HC playing day and night. But that seems and feels like it would just defeat the purpose of playing the game.

I get that there are some gold making guides out there but most of them don’t say anything about solo play, or they are extremely outdated. Anything that doesn’t involve grinding or staring at the TP for hours would be nice.

I sometimes regret choosing a Mesmer. It can be a pretty difficult class to play, for me at least.

It doesn’t have many straight-forward all-around useful utility skills, they all seem to be very situational. Mobility also feels to be a major issue for me. Phantasms and clones seem to be very difficult to use, especially in dungeons and WvW where there is even a bit of AoE going on, your clones and phantasms will die in 0,5 seconds, rendering many of your skills completely obsolete.

I’d roll a Warrior if I were you, but the choice is yours.

Yeah, I looked around that section a bit. Although it has a lot of recruitment threads… it still is seems quite dead to me. I only spotted a few threads advertising finnish guilds that are very old and received no responses at all.

Couldn’t there be some sort of guild panel interface implemented in-game where you could advertise your guild and filter out guilds to your preference?

I’m having a major problem here. I’m having difficulties finding a guild to my liking. I would like to have a bit bigger sized guild for PVE dungeons in my own country but it feels like a mission impossible.

First of all, compared to other MMOs that I’ve played, including Guild Wars 1, WoW and EVE Online, there seems to be absolutely no decent way to search for a guild. There seems to be no chat channel dedicated to recruit spamming, there is no big in-game list for different guilds and there seems to be no dedicated forum section to finding a guild either.

So can anyone point me in the right direction? There seems to be no mechanics making it easier for people to join different kinds of communities from different countries. I remember playing Guild Wars 1 and for some reason it had a lot of different kinds of finnish guilds, probably thanks to the recruiting chat channels. Now I’m at a complete loss. Any help appreciated.
