I have over 25 characters. I play them as the mood hits me.
2 are level 80

But back on topic….. I would rather they do as they said before the game launched that the dye system would be account based not character based. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about which one has or doesn’t have which dye

The problem I see at this point is they’re stuck in a kitten if they do situation. To make dyes account bound would cause an outcry from the people who’ve dropped gold (or cash) for Midnight dyes for all their characters…

Would certainly be nice for convenience sake.

However, given that there are no limits on character slots (or very high limits at the very least, I’ve seen people say they have 20+ characters) it would get very cluttered pretty fast for some.

People have time to play 20+ characters?!?!?!

Instead they should just makes dyes an account-wide thing…. but I doubt they’d do this….

While I don’t disagree, people have been griping about account-based dyes nearly since day one. If after 7 months its still not there, I doubt they’re going to implement it.

With a character or two, it isn’t such a big deal, but once you have more than 2 characters, I find its really cumbersome to try and guess which of my characters has what dye. Furthermore, putting the dye into my bank and logging in with each character just to find out they have them already is really annoying (and time consuming).

I would think it would be a simple enough addition to make it so the item description hover box could display which of your characters has a given dye.

I’ve attached a really simple and badly photoshopped graphic of what I think it could look like.

Just want to step in here for a second to comment on a few speculations:

There will be no mounts, no Cantha and no dragons coming with this story arc.
Sorry if that destroyed some dreams.

Non-combat weapon set swapping for Engs/Elems

The OP is not asking for a in game weapon switch. He is asking for a secondary weapon slot on the hero sheet so when a character is OUT OF COMBAT he can click one button and switch his weapons. Which is no different from me opening my hero tab and dragging the weapons into slot while out of combat.

Please please read, his suggestion just removes the fact that you have to open a window and manually do it, so instead of taking 5 seconds out of combat you would take 1 second out of combat

Elementalists/Engineers cannot have a second set of weapons equipped. It doesn’t make a big difference to me since I use staff on my elem 98% of the time.

However, I was thinking, could Elems./Engs. still have the ability to have a second set of items equipped so that the users can one-button click to change battle types? I’m not suggesting they allow these classes to change while engaged in combat like the other classes, but simply the ability to swap between play styles without having to open your hero tab and manually swap the weapons.

Real World Example: I generally play staff. However, when I’m grouped with my friends and we’re doing a map completion, Staff just can’t keep up in terms of damage dealt when fighting random mobs. I’d love it if I could just one-button click to swap to another build and back again while not engaged in combat.

In my reddit post, people popped up that those who can easily disengage from combat, switch weapons, and re-enter combat with a new build my be over-powered. I was thinking a simple counter to that argument is that in a PvP/WvWvW scenario, a cooldown is applied to the hot-swap button.

I’d love to hear more feedback on this.

I haven’t always had this issue with my Elementalist, but lately, I’ve been noticing while engaged in underwater combat and attuned to Air, my auto-attack cannot hit Barracuda. Its like my shots go right over their bodies… almost as if my toon is higher on the z-axis than they are. The problem is most severe when the fish are within melee distance, at that point, I just keep casting to no avail.

I haven’t noticed this issue with other underwater creatures or with the other attunements.
