Alright well Warriors looked fun but again I am looking for a profession that is strong in PvE so I can get into groups pretty easily but also PvP without being to frustrated so meaning I want a profession that is going to be able to hold his own but not dominate and be considered OP.
It sounds like Necro might be good on both aspects not OP in PvE or PvP but decent at both.
Any other suggestions out there? I will probably wait a few days and mess around with the different looks of the different races so I am set go with a profession and race once I get the communities help on my decision.
A little history. I bought this game when it first came and out and I was a little disappointed on several aspects of the game play. I realized that it probably just needed some time to “get better” and rather then deal with the frustrating times of waiting for things to get fixed while playing I decided to leave and then come back as I am sure a lot also did.
So I am back. I have been keeping a close eye on the improvements and I must say the Dev’s constant improvements have impressed me.
I now am realizing I need to choose a profession but I am having a difficult time deciding.
To help you out let me explain the type of player I am.
1. I have played several MMO’s longest lasting would be World of Warcraft as I am sure most can say the same.
2. My favorite class even from the start of WoW was warlocks just based on their unique design and I played that class up until about a year ago when I decided to let that addiction go.
3. I have read over the Necro forums as I would expect that profession to be close to what I played in WoW but I do see a lot of complaints about the class in both PvP and PvE. I do not mind waiting out changes to a character I will like but I want to make sure there is “potential” in the class before I make the long level grind journey and invest the time into making the character perfect.
4. I have experience as close range combat as a warrior, rogue and paladin all of which I enjoyed equally. Hunters were boring to me and so I assume the ranger class will probably be the same.
5. I am not a casual player. I am all in and I am very detailed and theorycraft everything I can which is why I am coming here first to make sure I find a profession that will not be frustrating and will be worth the time I am willing to invest.
So with that said I guess my goals are this.
A strong PvE class which is not considered “OP” in PvP because those tend to get nerfed which drastically affect PvE which I hate. So I am looking more at PvE with a decent to good stance in PvP.
Ranged professions are fine as the majority of my experience is with ranged however; I wouldn’t mind mixing it up and going melee as well assuming there is a good way to close gaps and they are not easily kited to death in pvp.
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
