Guild Wars 2

So, I’ve thought carefully about this. I’ve mailed members of the WvW team… msged them when they were on and posted this a few times, but I’m going to give it one last ditch effort.

WvW’s main problem is population disparity. There are some servers that simply have a far larger population than the opponents they face and it causes blow out matches. This might be mitigated in tier 1 where everyone has queues on each borderland, but it’s only becoming more and more apparent in the lower tiers.

Today I was scouting out servers to visit. Being from a server that has been dominating our match, I wanted to go back to tier 8 to visit. When I came into Devona Rest’s lions arch to see who the wvw guilds are… I was laughed at. No, I’m not talking about trolling laugh but they laughed at the notion of WvW and said, “you mean the thing we always lose at?”

Then, after guesting back to the server I’m from and a full lions arch… I look at the scoreboard and see we’re winning by 550 ppt – the same number Devona’s is losing by. So what’s the problem? It costs the exact same to move to Devonas as it does to a server like stormbluff isle. How in god’s name is that fair? Where’s the incentive? I’d understand if you guys were trying to consolidate servers and squeeze profit out of the players wanting to move via gem store… but at this point it’s just hurting your game. I can’t tell you how many players from my guild have quit the game.

I really don’t know what you’re trying to pull but this is the last time I’ll post about this so you don’t have to worry. I’m tired of the lack of changes with this system and the bottom servers always having to suffer. If a guild or players want to leave a server for whatever reason it costs so much it isn’t practical… add the fact that they’re going to a losing server and you’ve turned moving into a poison pill.

Regardless, I’ve put forth a lot of effort trying to get this message across and trying to get in touch with anyone from the WvW team. There was a lot of potential to this game and while a lot has been changed, some of the most basic and game breaking situations have not been addressed.

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t even mind if there was a 15$ fee per month to play this game if there were results and balancing.
