Good advice there, so you think it’s best to stay on Piken Square, don’t the other servers RP as well?

I got Guild Wars 2 on launch and I joined up Piken’s Square as I read that it is an unofficial RP server, but it seems that RP happens on all servers. But I was thinking of transferring to a server where a lot of players do WvW (PvP etc).

So I was looking for advice on a busy server for WvW (PvP) and PvE.

I just completed AC story a couple of days ago, cool dungeon and very nice story but for the first dungeon it was tough going. We all kept dying especially on final King boss, it was literally hit him a couple of times..die…spawn…die…spawn. I died 11 times in that fight and my armour was broken when we completed him. The amount of repairs we had to do was nuts.

Don’t get me wrong I liked the dungeon but tone down some of it please especially considering that was the first “easymode” dungeon that people see for the very first time in the game, it can put people off (we did have people leaving cause they weren’t having fun).

Yea there is a lot to learn for new players especially if you are use to other mmo’s. The combat I have been finding the hardest to learn. I am starting to get use to the combat.

The trickiest part of the game is picking which class to for as they are all good LOL.

I did hear someone on the GW2 website that you can be a guest on their server with your characters (the 4 you created) but you can’t participate in any PvP.

You can transfer your characters properly at a cost of gems (I think it’s still free at the moment tho) but you must be on one server, you can’t have multiple servers at the same time.

Well I was PvP’ing last night in battlegrounds and I ended up fighting one on one with a warrior in tournment gear (he was, I was in noobie gear) and it was a fair fight and we manage to knock both of ourselves out at the same time.

So perhaps it’s more I needed to learn the class a bit more or it’s the switch from 2h staff to 2xdagger (also I have been going up the fire trait path for more damage)

Perhaps I do need to learn to dive more or kite better but it still feel like elementist needs more help in PvP. I tried 2x dagger recently and traits in fire and it did seem a bit better.

Is anyone else having problems against meleers in PVP as a caster?

I got an elementist (which is only lv15 at mo) and I was fighting in the battlegrounds using the gear provided when you first join and a guardian had ignored me to attack a siege weapon. I was attacking him while he attacked the siege weapon for about a minute and only managed to get his health to about half a bar.

He then healed up turned on me and within about 20 seconds killed. I felt really underpowered against the guardian and I was wondering are casters underpowered compared to meleers (as I have had trouble with warriors and theives too) or is it just the case my gear/skill wasn’t good enough?
