Also if I just missed something here and this is possible then can someone please let me know =p
Hello….
So basically, one of my setups is axe/shield and then sword/axe — the problem is that with this setup I cannot use the same axe. The primary and secondary weapon slots are not independent of one another, so if I grab the main hand axe and move it to the offhand secondary weapon it will remove itself as the main hand weapon.
This is fine, I don’t really care, or I should say I didn’t care until I started to go for the legendary frostfang. I want to be able to show it off regardless of what weapon set it is in and whether it is in the same hand or not.
Just make both sets independent of each other so you can place the same item in main hand primary and offhand secondary without affecting one another.
Thanks.
just hope Anet doesn’t wipe the event part way through… (when time runs out that is), at least give the stragglers a chance to complete it.
As I am sure you already know, dolyak runes only tick for 30 health/sec max, which is pretty bad. I was using them until I found this out, so I figured I would make sure you knew as well.
Simple straightforward build that I typically use for WvW … Enjoy !
Goals
keep crit% at around 30 (50 with signet of rage)
high dmg output with reasonable survivability
Gear
4 Berserker’s pieces with 2 Valkyrie pieces
-currently 6 runes of dolyak for extra toughness/vit and health regen
-ruby rings and amulet , Valkyrie earrings for some more tough/vit
-axe/shield -- axe/warhorn
– (keep extra rifle, longbow, axe on person at all times =p)
– sigil of blood/blood (or purity) and sigil of leeching on offhand.
Usually use sigil of ice on my ranged weapons
-most of the main gear is exotic except the accessories
-Shield is also not exotic for some strange reason
Traits
30 strength – ’Berserker’s Power’ ‘— Restorative str’ — ‘Axe Mastery’
30 defense – ‘Embrace the pain’ — ‘Shield Master’ — ‘Last stand’ (bugged) so I use like turtles defense or something as I am likely on the front lines
10 discipline – Signet Mastery — I use this baby to get a 48 second signet of fury cooldown and the 16 sec healing signet. So if I need to use it at least it will be close to par with the others
skills
-‘Healing signet’ – active is ok (7200 health every 32 sec that removes crippled, chilled, immobilize and weakness once every 16 sec) , and passively it couples with dolyak rune and sigil of blood and food to give decent health regen.
-‘Dolyak signet’- inc toughness
-‘shake it off’ – removes condition
-‘Signet of power’ – this one can be swapped out and I usually do so with fear or endure pain or whatever other utility skill you want.
-‘Signet of Rage’ – required
Not much more to it other then playing smart. Good build for hanging around the front lines taking people out… but have also had very good success with 1v1’s.
*Note: don’t use eviscerate unless signet of rage is active as you will likely not crit, instead utilize the dmg gain from berserkers str until it is active.
Results
Combo’s like (throw axe-shield bash-eviscarate-smack smack) can do anywhere from10-20k damage depending on the target, and that is in a pretty short amount of time. Axe also hits 3 targets for damage so its great for this build.
Took some screenshots of expected potential stats as well as some combat log stuff — from last weeks wvw —haven’t played much this week sorry. Also much longer then I was planning but oh well =p

too lazy to run dungeons atm so just got what I could through gold and karma…
@ODB.6891 – Agreed, I use the warhorn as my secondary set – usually when I need to get out of a fight
.
The trait I was thinking did that was the power trait ‘restorative strength’ which says “Using a heal skill removes crippled, chilled, immobilize, and weakness.”
I was assuming that since healing signet is listed as a healing skill on the wiki that this would work. To be honest though I have not explicitly tested it … and now I probably try to do just that =p
**Edit (To confirm Just did a small test on pve earth elementals which cripple their targets and sure enough healing signet removed cripple each time — tried it 4 times…. )

The reason I like the healing signet more then the others is that when with the right traits, the healing signet can be used every 16 sec (discipline) as a light heal and removal of crippled, chilled, immobilize and weakness.
and when not in use it couples with my other hp regen methods.
