With the release of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns expansion coming soon, I find myself fairly underwhelmed. I have recently built a shiny new computer with plenty of power to spare and yet my anticipation for the expansion isn’t really there. In all honesty if there wasn’t so much innovation when it comes to player versus environment in Guild Wars 2, I probably wouldn’t play at all.
My problem with Guild Wars 2 is the lack of open world PVP. I know that many players if not every player that consistently plays this title today would disagree with me. This is because Arena Net ostracized players like myself, trading instead for a player mentality that is (in my opinion) all or nothing.
Regardless of the consensus to abandon an open world PVP system it remains important to players such as myself. For me it adds depth and realism to my gameplay. Mobs and bosses are confined by programming, literally chained by it. A character controlled by a human being is chaotic! It is not defined by code but rather the spirit of the gamer.
Open World PVP has always resulted in higher level characters in lower level areas, whether for the good or ill of lower level characters. I know that many players really dislike when this phenomenon bodes ill for their new low level chars but without this necessary evil lower level areas become desolate as we see now.
Guild Wars 2 lacks depth of character utterly in my opinion. I don’t see how it matters what gear your wearing in this game unless you’re entirely caught up by what you look like. I don’t really see the necessity of friendships and guilds since you really don’t need someone to “have your back”. Furthermore any real sense of danger has been annihilated. Sure you might run out of range of a mob because your low on health but your not “hauling kitten ” from that ranger who intends to hunt you until you die period.
I am a competitive player (that’s an understatement) and sure Guild Wars 2 offers competitive PVP. WvW is it’s own game though! Your not playing Guild Wars 2 when you switch to WvW and your definitely not playing an RPG. Your enjoying the mechanics of a battle arena and “Role Playing” is out the window. There’s only one object to that game and I’m sorry but basically every First Person Shooter makes that one objective more fun.
In conclusion this is my attempt at persuasion. I would adore seeing open world pvp in Guild Wars 2. Arena Net, this could be possible by opening and dedicating one server to this cause and allowing we the players to choose. I would never force anyone to play a game option that was consistently no fun for them and I do realize that many players do not like open world pvp. I would just like the same consideration from Arena Net and the Guild Wars 2 community.
Anyways all that said and done I responded with the message below . . . . It’s from the heart. I’m not harshin on anyone nor do I expect reimbursement. I still enjoy this game for what it is and it’s a fresh breathe of air to what’s out there right now so in reality . . . . . Could be worse.
I understand . . . . It’s not that you can’t make these changes as that is as simple as a mouse click away. It’s that you won’t P-E-R-I-O-D. But have faith in yourself because it is not the gold or the gear that make this game so fun rather it is the R-E-A-L Community that plays your game that makes it so fun. I’ve realized this over the years as gaming companies have continually outraged me with their “Policies”. Please understand it is not you (Meaning the individual person who probably copied and pasted this message) that outrages me. Rather it is the industry that sickens and depresses me.
My view on hacks and bots because of continual messages like this. . . . M-O-N-E-Y Build the game and sell it . . Build the hacks and sell those too then out the hacks with updates and sell new hacks for . . . . M-O-R-E P-R-O-F-I-T
But please do not fear or feel as though this news to me is a fuel for anger rather it is only more reason for FAITH. What in fact could this world we live in ever offer us accept a merry go round to the day we can pay for our own coffins and afford the price to dig our own six foot hole in the ground.
This response is no better than Blizzard Entertainments response when my account was hacked. I suppose the only truth of this world these days is that ignorance is not an excuse. Such a harsh concept but when you consider who promotes such a thing it makes sense enough I suppose.
All of that said I would still like to thank the people in Arena Net who actually did strive for a difference . . . . it’s completely visible and your difference making did count in my opinion. Without corruption in the industry this game would be an absolute dream you brave hearts!
In fact even with the corruption Guild Wars 2 pWns so much! You brave few really painted a beautiful picture and the Landscape, Puzzle Jumps, Seperate PVP (with structure PVP making EVERYONE equal for once) <—— We Believe that all men, woman, and children are created Equal!!—-], Are amazing concepts and I can not thank you enough for this.
To: Support just consider this Feedback I don’t need a response if you change your mind I appreciate it if you don’t . . . . no harm no foul.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team. We would like to be able to offer refunds or exchanges in the manner you are describing, but at this time we’re unable to make these kinds of adjustments to characters.
I’m sorry that there’s not more that we can do in this case. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Regards,

(Then this above message just seems to be such the basic didn’t take any real time to do much of anything at all accept send me a response to make me feel like they listened. Every game does this now. . . . . It’s policies like this that suck you guys we’re talking about a small chunk of gold, 6 gold to be precise. Fairly earned as I sold over 1000 mats to get it. Which by the way is rediculous considering the work you actually have to do and the time you actually have to invest to get that legitamitely. But hey whatever I ranked #1 Staff in my entire server in World of Kung Fu and I wasn’t even max level or max gears for my level. I’ve taken out Level 80’s who bought their power through sheer skill so I know you can still pWn =) Just gotta work harder than the next guy and through play do I learn how to be so much more deadly with my given skills. Please don’t take that the wrong way gamers I absolutely support any of you who play legit and I hope for your success I really do.)

Alright Fellow Gamers. Hi =) So I made a mistake as due to being a human I am prone to do. I listed all my gold ore for 1 gold (Which actually seems realistic ya know) but yes for 1 gold and what do you know it cost me a listing price of pretty much 6 gold to list it. Pretty petty stuff actually. My dumb fault for not thinking about the listing price at the time. I’m not too worried about the loss of gold just so you know. Nor am I in any way angry as I’m still quite happy with almost having a level 80 Necromancer WOOT! but once again (Once again for anyone who saw my post on what Blizzard did when my account was hacked: Nothing XD) A company who apparently doesn’t understand how simple a couple mouse clicks really are. So here’s the details just thought I’d make it public so maybe a few of you know that someone is always out there fighting for you though admittedly it is not always me. So for your viewing pleasure the details of my support ticket with ArenaNet.
Hey I accidently listed 119 gold for 1 gold each and it took all of my currency to list it I’ve already taken it off the market but it does not give you back your listing price. I really need some help here tonight you guys I feel like I wasn’t actually getting paid full price for what I did sell and now I have less than when I started. Please Help refund my listing fee. Thanks ANet.
(Pretty Straight Foward Support Ticket just need you to click a couple times to fix my mistake ya know Sorry for the foul up ANet)

Alright so I’m building toward a crit damage character and I’ve added up all the numbers So I’d like you to critique me on my thoughts here so I have some advice before I commit to the build.
I’m a staff master so these numbers are staff specific although roughly the same stats will be on my offhand.
These are the stats added to my base level 80 stats
934 Power . . . 1058 Precision . . . with a 62% Crit Damage modifier for a total of 221% Damage on crit hits.
I’d like to know my critical hit chance with these stats as well if anyone would be polite enough to tell me.
Thank you for your time and advice.
Greetings Jade Quarry! Distant Soulz is new to the server. We’ve decided to lay roots in Guild Wars 2 after trekking through dissapointment in D3 and other games that just didn’t deliver.
A Little Bit About Us: Distant Soulz is a new guild to the gaming community. We’ll be celebrating our 1st Birthday in Janurary of 2013. I founded the guild in Thirst of Night, a browser based MMORTS. I’ve had a lot of experience with running guilds/clans before I actually formed Distant Soulz but this one is the Guild I’ll call home until my gaming days are over. I think any gamer can verify that it takes time to find your identity in this community and it took me years of creating and scrapping ideas before I settled.
Distant Soulz was founded by me but we operate as a team. Our Leadership is made up of three players, Mistress Ravanna, jsliver, and myself to ensure checks and balances. There is no ultimate power here. You’ll find Mistress Ravanna and jsliver are fully qualified for the posistion. We all log gaming hours daily and we work to gather the best information to help each of our members to the best of our ability. You might also note that we are not drill seargents here. A game is meant to be enjoyed not screamed down your throat. Of course there’s a difference between intense pvp conversation and your leaders telling you how to play a game you spent YOUR money on.
We use Raid Call for voice communication and we very much encourage our members to join us in there as it is an excellent way to communicate and we are a little slow to respond to guild chat. When mobs need slayin typing must wait.
Our Guild is currently PvE only as we all just got the game a few weeks ago and our guild is quite small at this point. We do have a website under construction that will include a calander, crafting request page, forum, and more with posistions that will need filling. The Leaders are Hardcore players with close to 200 hours already logged, however we encourage casual play to a degree. We are an open minded organization as well so you’ll find that we’ve put things in play to be family oriented for younger players yet still provide a space for those seeking a more mature conversation.
I’d like to say more but that’s quite a bit to take in already so if you’d like more information or have specific questions please get in touch with me in game or message me on the forums.
At this time as we are so small everyone is welcomed, yes even role players and explorers, provided your account meets the terms and agreements already stated by ArenaNet, as we are a professional organization. But anything can happen so if your interested get a spot now before we close the gates to our Kingdom.
Go Jade Quarry !!!
My Background: I’ve been gaming for years and years. I’ve tried just about every genre more or less. FPS was my thing for a long time and I grew into an RPG kind of gamer eventually. I’ve Played titles like MW3, Diablo 3, Black Ops, Combat Arms, Dragon Nest, Tried a little WoW lead me to play World of Kung Fu, (because I was young and it was free) I’ve played Evony, Armies of Magic on FB, Thirst of Night. Gosh the list goes on and on. My First 3rd Person Shooter was . . . (I hope you get a chuckle out of this) Oregon Trails on Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 I can’t remember. There’s a hunting mode in there and that’s all I’d do (Rather than learn what the game was trying to teach me lol) That eventually lead to Delta Force (every one except Black Hawk Down) and then to Medal of Honor Allied Assault : Demo. Yeah only ever played the demo and LOVED IT. Stalingrad is an awesome map period.
My Opinoin of Guild Wars 2: I don’t love video games first and foremost (it’s a game) Not gonna love me back ya know lol. But I must say that I am really thankful for this one. All around I enjoy the gameplay. I’m such a competitive player to a degree but they seperated the competition from a well done storyline and I actually really enjoy that. Anyone worried about gear in Guild Wars 2 for PVE . . . Don’t!!! You’ll Ruin it for yourself. I had not played Guild Wars prior to picking this up but I can tell you my friends and I are having a lot of fun and we haven’t hardly touched the PvP yet. I did have to approach GW2 in a different way though. Usuaully in MMO’s there’s such a rush to do everything so you can be one of the biggest baddest players around. GW2 encourages a player to take their time (Stop and smell the roses) I have no idea about ascended gear I guess I’ll look into it when I come across it but yeah I really like this Game. Only had it for 2 and a half weeks and already dropped over 100 hours into it.
In all honesty I think it might be that competetiveness we are all so used to in a title like this that ruins the gameplay because the competition and or the race is different. But you want some real competition in Guild Wars 2 Pick a puzzle Jump any time anywhere and let me know I’ll race you to the end. Can you beat me???
P.S. Garraeth THANK YOU whoever you are for pointing out that fatal Flaw on D3. OMG even the Legendaries on that game were $#!^ Yeah I played D3 but I’m getting ready to do a youtube video where I burn my physical copy of the Game
(That’s why you get a physical copy) Don’t care for the idea of all digital content No good if I need to throw some BS at a wall or something.
