Level 80 Guardian. Which class to max next?

Hi guys. Apologies if this forum is bombarded with yet another one of these types of threads, but I’ve been having trouble coming up with a solid decision for days now.

I’ve been playing GW2 for a short amount of time, and within that time, I’ve come to like the Guardian class quite a bit. It’s my first 80 and likely will be my main until I find something even more enjoyable to play. That said, I don’t know which class to try my hand at next. Hopefully I can get some insight from you guys.

To give you an idea of how I normally play RPGs, let me start off by saying that I have a tendency to gravitate towards melee/magic hybrids (hence the Guardian being my first choice) in most RPGs. Sometimes I will deviate to a pure warrior or mage archetype, but it would really have to depend on how the class system/playstyle works for me to select one of the two instead of picking a mixture of both. It would really depend on how flexible they are with their skillset. Normally I will stay anywhere between close-to-medium range depending on the class.

However, I have taken more “abstract” RPG choices on occasion. For instance, I have played a cannon engineer in Torchlight II (I wonder if anyone on this forum has ever played it before) and deeply enjoyed it simply because I would carry around a giant two-handed… well, cannon with a support pet giving me and any allies health regen. Low-maintenance mechanics help me stay focused on the fight which helps me become a better player at my class.

Now, I know that most classes in GW2 aren’t bound to a specific archetype. I know about D/D Elementalists going ham in melee range and “killshot warriors”. Still, I’d prefer if I were directed to a class more suited to the sort of playstyle written out. Any sort of advice is greatly appreciated

Thanks for taking the time to read, and I hope to hear from you guys soon.

Having trouble on deciding a cloth "main".

First of all, hello everyone. New(ish) player here.

So, I’ve already picked guardian and engineer for a heavy and medium armor class respectively, but I’m really having trouble deciding on a light-armor class (or profession). If anyone could help me come to a decision, that’d be much appreciated.

To give an idea of how I tend to play (in any sort of game), I really enjoy more “aggressive” support roles while being able to stay alive myself. Now, from what I’ve been reading around the forums, necromancers, mesmers and elementalists all seem capable of staying alive, but then that puts me at a crossroads again. I have noticed that I tend to prefer more steady damage rather than straight-up burst, so that would have to involve either moderate cooldowns on skills or a decent amount of conditions that could be applied consistently to complement direct damage. I don’t know any of the three well enough to know which one supports that sort of playstyle best. Could anyone give me a clear answer as to which class would suit that sort of playstyle?

tl;dr

Which one should I choose?
