No, I’m not saying the ascended professions skills would be stronger than the previous profession. It just evolves the current profession. Of coarse there would be balancing some professions skills.

for example someone might really want to be a “machinest” so they level an engineer to 80 then take the challenge to ascend the profession to become a machinest. (of coarse they dont have to if they dont want to because all professions will be balanced and no ascended profession can be better than previous professions.) Someone else on the other hand might just like the way engineer plays and just stay engineer.

Also it doesnt have to be that you level again from 1. It could be something like 40 or 60, just something so that the player can play around with the new skills and traits to get use to it.

So essentially you want me to level all my eight characters – again – so they can (again) unlock new traits to be able to do everything an “ascended” or “finished” character can do?

No. Just no. This treadmill mentality has got to stop.

I never said its mandatory. I said if the player chooses to ascend his character he can. I also never mentioned that the ascended class will be stronger than its previous class. Just different from its previous class, as in different skills. I think this would just bring more flavor to the game.

I do think that the whole “trial” system does sound like a better way to go about ascending a class. My thought on leveling again would make it just more rewarding rather than just completing a 3 min trial that just seems to easy mode. But I guess from level 1 would be a pain. maybe from level 40 or 60, idk just an idea of coarse.

I’m sure most of us can agree that the game gets real stale once you’ve been 80 for a while. I’m sure we can also agree that while we were leveling, each zone we entered was beautiful and visually stunning. I’ve been thinking for some time now how can ArenaNet make this game tasteful and fun again.

I came up with ascended professions. Imagine evolving your very own profession. A guardian evolving into a templar, an elementalist evolving into a sage, a necro evolving into a warlock and an engineer evolving into a machinest. I was thinking once a character hits 80 they have a choice to ascend there profession. the character goes back to level 1 but doesnt lose his current gear or anything and a whole new set of traits are formed. I would say you have to make new gear but just the visual look of gear should reflect to the current ascended profession.

To make it easier to explain refer back to ragnarok online. Something like that would be so much fun and it would motivate so much players that left this game due to boredom once you reach 80. I know I took a 6 month leave only because it was so kitten boring at 80. There was nothing to do, dungeons take to long for crappy loots and fractals took even longer to actually reach the level to get mediocre loot. The main problem with this game is the loot system. I mean if I kill a world boss that takes coordination and skill to kill and doesn’t respawn that often, I’m going to expect some exotics or something worth my time.

I would really love to see this come into effect in guild wars 2 because I do love what arena net did with this game. Everything is so unique and smooth. So I can imagine how amazing they can take this idea and make it better. Healing power/Turreteer?

This is what I use for sPvP:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fdAQFAUlUUpyqlcx2KseNCdBF6VcwQL6GWkR/pAA-TJRDwAaLDAd/BMPAAAXAAA

This build uses the Cleric’s amulet for superior hp/s, group support, and for the conversion synergy with the Inventions line. The good thing about turrets is since they do not scale with stats it does not matter which equipment you use since non of it really affects them, which some also consider as a negative. Although, in this build it works to your advantage as you can rely on the highest dps turrets to pummel your enemies, while you serve as more as a distraction and focus on your CCs.

CC is another strong point with this build since you have many knock-backs to keep your foes off point with Accelerant-packed turrets and is why I opted to bring rifle opposed to P/S; also it scales better with power.

Support is surprisingly also quite good in this build with the use of the new turret traits. You can use the turret reflects for a variety of things such as: securing stomps against enemies with projectiles, insuring your safety against d/p thieves, keeping ranged at bay, and more I can’t think of. Also, laying your Supply Crate on heavy group fights can turn the tides with not only bandages that heal for a lot more, but with many boons and a blanket reflect over the battle!

The build is overall a bit campy, but you can play aggressive if you so choose and can play de-cap, but probably not kill the enemy defender if he is a bunker.

Let me know how you like the build

Edit: Also don’t forget to keep your turrets alive most of the time by going melee with your Tool-kit and healing them. On that note, also don’t nest your turrets: spread them out instead and run in between them keeping your enemy busy by switching between tool-kit and rifle.

This is a really interesting build looks good can’t wait to try it. Have you considered using energized armor to increase your toughness/power/healing power at the same time?

Healing power/Turreteer?

I took a decent break from gw2 when it got so repetitive. I’ve recently seen the changes to traits and so forth, also seen some fun power turreteer videos. Seems fun and all but I was wondering if anyone has tried to make a healing turreteer build. I haven’t tried just because I’ve been busy with work and RL things so I haven’t had time to test builds. But i think it would be great and really strong in survivability. Maybe a power/healing build.

Neither, there gunna keep playing there thieves and soloing a small group by stealth dancing with knives lol. Until they get bored of coarse and get there jobs threatened if they dnt get back to work and finally nerf engi’s again.

Sry for my raging but i want this class to get better cuz its the most interesting and fun.

Anet needs to stop playing on there thieves and warriors and seriously see the BS us engineers go through. For a week straight I’ve been trying to come up with builds to make the class seem useful or do more dmg than a Catholic School girl on Sunday on her way to church. But nothing at all has changed but diff ways to die. If they dnt work on this soon I think they might lose alot of active players in the engineer community. I mean I seriously dnt have fun anymore i just get depressed when i log on my engineer.
