I’d really like to have them on there own map. But the attitude “incompetent player, noobs, casuals suck” etc makes them bad players to me. I’d even like to give them their own game so no one needs to ever get in contact with them :-P

The problem is not incometence, inexperience or noobieness. The major problem – after doing the new jungle worm successfully for quite some time now – is that not all players on the map are willing to do the boss.
Thus we end up with too small numbers and failing. Having only one opportunity/day (without guilds starting the event) this gets quite frustrating.

This is something i can accept and think which should be kind of addressed by Arenanet. Of course you can’t forbid any player to be on a map and do something else, there should be a way for those who want to do the event to “meet with other players”

Maybe get an feature like LFG for world maps to get certain things done? I’d appreciate it as i do not have to use it if i don’t want to and everyone who wants, can to.

Hate it. And here’s why: I’m part of Attuned, a guild focused on fighting those “Hardcore” mega bosses. While it’s nice we can start the boss whenever we want, it’s terrible that we can no longer commandeer a map for ourselves.

Let me explain. Fights like the Triple Headed Jungle Wurm require coordination by 120~160 people with at least 110 of which in the same teamspeak. To accomplish this, my guild has been guesting to empty servers or forcing an overflow for private use. This ensures that we have only people who we know we can count on in the map and furthermore ensures we can actually accomplish killing the Wurm on a regular basis.

With the changes to the current system, it sounds like there will be no such thing as overflows, and no such thing as “empty maps” to guest to. In this case, it seems impossible to purge our runs of PUGs who are either geared incorrectly or unable/unwilling to follow commander instruction. Thus, this system makes future endeavors at killing the wurm (or any future, more-difficult boss) futile and impossible. Our guild is very dismayed over the fact that there has been no considerations for this situation and are skeptical that when this patch hits we’ll be able to kill wurm at all anymore due to the excessive amount of incompetent PUGs that will always be inside our (now merged) Bloodtide Coast.

While reading this i’d like to puke all over you. People like you are the worst thing which could ever happen to a game!

wow, just wow. What a horrible way to talk to someone in a public format.

Just to be sure, i’d say it to his face too
Saying someone who is not playing “correct” is incompetent is as unfriendly as i was, so i think we are both fine.

Not really… playing inefficiently and causing an event to fail is pretty much the definition of incompetent… Your inability to comprehend that is not really his issue…

Nope, it would be if i was not able to play “efficient”. But if i don’t want to because it is not fun for me then i might be unprofessional but not incompetent (Just my opinion)

Right… where to begin?

I can’t be on twenty four hours a day and I don’t belong to, or want to be forced to join, a large guild that can invoke the world bosses. Also, smaller guilds still struggle with the insane costs for most of these unlocks – we’re already forced to join larger guilds just to play some of the game’s content and access the rewards.

So, I guess I can summarise it with two questions:
1) When will smaller guilds be able to do… anything?
2) Why do I always get the short straw with every update?

Hi Chameleon Dude,
let me try to answer your questions:
1) I think with the new megaserver thingy you will be able to find a lot of new people you may like and play with. So maybe you can form/extend your guild by new people? Even if not, maybe you just can start playing with them and “do anything”. I see the potential here
2) Quiet the same answer as on the first one, but let me add something. Without a large guild you would not even be able to kill those hardcore bosses by yourself on some servers (no players are going to try it) but with this update, you may have the possibility to get some new players which are going to try it. I’d say, let’s see what time gives us.

So, wouldn’t you rather give them their own private instance of the map so we don’t have to put up with them?

Everyone can participate in Boss Event started a by a guild, so no worries.

And how do we know when these are? Will these times be any more convenient for us? Will the large guilds even want us randoms there?

I wonder if GW2 could benefit from a mentor system?
Players helping players, in general, is all well and good but how many players would put their names forward if a more dedicated approach to doing so was implemented?

If this would be implemented… i would be the first one to join

Would be a great way to help and get to know new people and maybe form some friendships. But it certenly would need a “ban” feature to kick abusive people (both, mentor and pupil)

Hi all,

in my opinion friendlyness has a wide variety in gw2. Rangeing from “unfriendly as hell” to “hey, you look a little lost, may i help you?”

Usually when doing some LS most of the people tend to be in the “play like I want it or get lost” direction. First day of LS and you you go an event and don’t know what to do? “Get lost and read guides”. Ehw… I want to play the game, not read a hundred of guides to be allowed to play…

I usually tend to whisper those people with what i know so far to at least give them the feeling of taken care of.

I am a really casual player (Don’t have even thousands of hours play time…) and like to play the way i want (Which includes unpopular builds and classes) so i often get bother by the pro-gamers to “learn how to play”.
In my opinion, i know quiet well how to play, but it’s not the “correct” way like others see it…

Last week i started doing fractals (Which were totally new to me) without reading any guides on how they work. I looked for a group with the description “newcomers/new players” and got dissapointed as i found one. I honestly told the groupleader that i’d never done a fractal and therefore have no idea on what to do. He told me it was ok… But he was lying as he left on the very first fail we had…

The next group i had was totally different. Also a newcommer group and a quiet unpatient person in the group. I already though “oh no, not again, he will be leaving as soon as we fail”… But i was wrong. After i told him that i had no idea what to do, he took his time and explained every single boss and task we had to do.
We did two or three full fractale runs… After the first one i decided to thank the guy by sending him 50 silver (I don’t have much… So i couln’d give more)

tl;dr
You see, there are quiet different people over in the game. Most of them are very friendly if you are friendly to them. The few which aren’t… Don’t be bothered by them and just ignore them.

hey just wondering if there were any updates?
like a possible time or something just so i know if i should come back later or whether i have time to wait?
keep up the good work!

It’s done when it’s done.
continuous asking for progress won’t speed anything up. The guys working in IT to get thinks fixed have other priorities right now.
