And yes, I know who composed “nights in white satin” long long ago, last century…. one of my favourite songs as a youngster.

Your fanfare is very vivid – I could “see” the combatants marching up in line, grim faces, wielding weapons, determined – great job (thumbs up)

Then I started to pull out your posts, Lioka and focussed on music topics: Thank you for “Walk in the Woods” – “Nights in White Satin” – “Fanfare” – “Lamentation”.

Thank you for introducing me to the wonderful music composed by STEP and Corvus. I had absolutely no idea how creative GW2 musicians are.

As I don’t want to be accused of necroing these months old threads, I’ll place my admiration here for Omabroodje (Crystal oasis) – Randomwolf – Hunnamus (flute) – The V (Essence of Silence/Epica) and many more.

The melody is so beautiful – could you possibly write down the lyrics here, so I can read, listen and understand fully, please?

I’d appreciate the return of the vendor for a certain time as well – in addition to that I would like to know which emphasis Anet is going to focus on in future.

What gamer type does Anet primarily wish for?

- those who prefer organised group tasks (raid)?
- those who focus on competitive gameplay (wvw/pvp)?

I am very dismayed and feel abandoned. 3.5 years ago I was drawn into this game and very happy to get away from raids (nearly 7 years of raid-healing). I was delighted to be in a virtual world where cooperative gaming was encouraged – no killsteals, no fighting for nodes etc.

I got my badges only due to achievement chests and was thus able to make 3 leggies slowly but steadily, am currently working on Chuka and Finitum. Well, and then I will reach the end of this road – another door closed in my face, leaving me in the situation of farming for guild hall mats until LS 3 comes out. I did what I was interested in HOT, so farming events just for the sake of passing my time is not my cup of tea. I need a goal that interests me – atm my choices are not wide.

This prospect is not very enticing for me, but if Anet has decided to promote a game for the aforementioned gamer types, I’d like to know. I am a cooperative pve-gamer and nothing will change my way how I want to play.

GW2 gave me a lot of fun and it is hard for me to currently decide if I wish to cling to a game that has changed in a way I don’t want to participate in anymore.

So, if any official reads this and wants to enlighten me, I’d be very happy to have help in my decision about staying or not.

Thank you, for your post Vayne. This sentence particularly nailed it for me. When I came to GW2 three years ago after nearly 7 years of WoW-raidhealing it was like a breath of fresh air.

I delved into the personal story, did hearts to understand more about this world, participated in events if I wanted a bit of action. I still love to watch cut scenes in dungeons and drove my comrades crazy with my discussions about this or that lore twist and turn. I even liked LS 1 and 2 and had a lump in my throat when I experienced a certain story decision in HOT. Stories and background, this keeps me going, this entices me, raises my curiosity.

When anet announced they would start an era of raids, my heart sank and a lot of bad memories (WoW) cropped up. But… well, I guess, some love this turn

I see a game as an offer, and I am the one deciding: will I take this offer or not. Pve is my way, so it was logical to not accept WvW or Pvp. It’s ok, if I pay the price for this = no specific loot. It’s not ok for me that I can’t experience the lore behind raids though.

Yes, I was happy in the pre-HOT era, now I am not. After finishing what I wanted to in HOT, I turned my back to the Magus Falls and am currently enjoying the personal story variations on a race I had neglected so far: Charr.

Just a theory – is this char you are having problems with the first to pick up the scholar back?

I tried to get my whispers back on 2 chars – nada – then I took my 3rd and she seems to be the first I picked the initiative pack with. So, I have the suspicion the collection is tied to the very first char starting it.

Would love to hear something from you to either verify or discard my theory.

Please, help. 2 of my chars are locked in Diessa Plateau. Network error 5:11:3:159:101. Both are situated at the crimson puzzle.

Same here, I can predict when my game will crash – mostly in the new areas though:
artifacting – my char in the hero panel turns blue/green – the mini map turns brown, as if still uncovered .

My specs are:
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
Intel Core i5-4670K CPU 3.40 GHz
8.00 GB RAM
EVGA Geforce GTX 780 Ti (4 GB)
I changed my drivers from 331.60 to 358.50 and then back to 352. Nothing seems to work.

It’s depressing. All this since HOT, before that I had a well-mannered, softly humming PC without any issues, lags or other problems

Apart from the lvl 70 issue from corruption on, I am also puzzled about my poor Sylvari, I wish I had made screenshots. She mostly only got loot/reward bags in chapter 8. Whereas my other 2 labrats had items additionally. It was not only “greatest fear” (in chapter7, right?

IIRC I mentioned my plight in the guild chat that day whilst I was standing in front of the tombs of Azabe Qabar, ready to enter and kill.

After the PS restoration plans were announced, I decided to get my lvl 80 chars to the story part at lvl 70 “forging the pact” and then waited for the restoration in the June patch. These are my results after starting chapter 8:

On the first character I created after the June 2015 update I noticed that I lacked rare/exotic rewards in some chapter 8 quests and merely got trophy/reward bags. And then I noticed, if I got a rare, it was lvl 70. I was puzzled, but did not know why/where/when this started. (Name: Rowan Ivysting, race: Sylvari, prof.: necro)

I then used a character I had created after the NPE Change and started to write down each PS choice in chapter 8. Everything seemed ok (lvl 80 rewards), until I reached “Against the Corruption”. From then on up to “Source of Orr” I got bags and lvl 70 rares. (Name: Siri Jinks, race: Asura, prof.: ranger)

My last experiment was on a very old character who had started the story before the NPE Change and got the same results as on Siri Jinks. (Brooks Springfield, race: Human, prof: Necro)

I still have 7 lvl 80 chars parked at “Forging the Pact” and 2 lvl 80 parked at “Temple of the Forgotten God”. Some are old chars, some created after the NPE change and one came after the June patch.

I am unsure what to do now – wait? – get them all to one step before “Source of Orr”? – proceed and trust I might get the lacking rewards as a sort of “refund”?

It’s a beautiful video – I liked karka before, even if this affection was one-sided in Southsun. Since I watched the perilous journey of a little guy determined to scuttle its way over the roofs of LA, not fearing the night, balancing delicateIy over wires and ropes, I can only admire this race.

Please, fix this bug. I avoid instances since the patch as I don’t want to cause wipes.

Vinewrath 7 times so far, 1 coat-box for doing it 1st time. Boot/shoulder boxes from the bandit chests there, that’s it.

Update: Runs 1, 8 and 10 gave me all 3 coats, whew.

Ah, let me rephrase, 12000 in total up to… and then preparing for head/chest – which were partly wasted due to the change for the chest.

RNG gave me so much frustration, especially in Silverwastes. I see no sense at all in it and am the verge of quitting again, as I had already done for 8 months. I belong to the outliers at the lower end, thus farmed my heart away for bandit crests (12000 alone for boots/shoulders and preparing for chest/head). My bad luck with RNG results in a terrible mood, asking myself why do I continue to waste my time doing something I hate and seeing people left/right getting what they need.

As for the money anet needs – I see your point, Stark. I spent a lot of RL money for things that interested me, but am unwilling to use my credit card anymore, as long as RNG is not evened out! I already try to keep my frustration low by avoiding world bosses, only do fractals when it is a daily and I can’t compensate it with other PVE options, but my tolerance limit is overstepped.

Everytime I read the word “chance for xxx” or “you have to be lucky” I cringe, my mood goes down.

I have the same problem with Mini set III.
By old count I had 45/49, lacked Largos, Adelbern, Mossheart and Effigy. I bought Adelbern and Mossheart a few days ago and unlocked them – only the new achiev changed the count to 47/49. The old one is still at 45/49.

I’d really like to know if the old achiev ended and only the new one adds up.

I’m extremely annoyed at megaservers by now.

- Piken Square (EU) feeling is totally gone

- last 3 times I logged in I was always surrounded by French map Chat. I am starting to think that getting on my old home server or at least on an English one has RNG “quality”. Or unguilded gamers are prone to being stuffed into empty spots.

- porting within the same map is like gambling in the Mystic Forge (am I on same server or not?)

As a result I don’t log into the game anymore, but search the game release notes instead, hoping for megaserver changes.

Thank you, Veydar. Since 10.00 am I am trying to find out why I can’t access GW2. I had suspected my provider already, but also wrote a support mail to anet, including diagnostic data.

I guess Scarlet increased her defenses and sent her holos off to ensure she can enjoy a free day.
