Colin’s statement was actually meant to be read like that Lawyer from The Simpsons. “Oh no! Dragons this year!?” rather than “Oh, no dragons this year.”

Struger & Chomper

I did this as a sylvari necro, so I used the sylvari elite to spawn turrets at the very start. This distracted them for a bit, I used axe/warhorn and a berserker gear setup. For utility I used spectral armor, plague signet and signet of the locust. I used this to get the achievement as well.

Pop the elite and then pop locust swarm and stand next to them to make sure chomper is crippled. Just auto attack chomper and use axe 2 when it’s available. Focus solely on getting to the meat before chomper. Each stack of the meat buff gives you a ton of power. The first three meats are safe to eat, after that each additional meat will stun you. That’s what I used the plague signet and spectral armor for, to break those. By the fourth meat, axe 2 should just obliterate Chomper and then Struger in short order. Axe 3 and warhorn 4 also work well to keep chomper locked down and away from meat. You can also pop in to death shroud and fear him if necessary.

A few tips. When Struger throws the meat all the way across the room, don’t run straight to it and eat it. Try to stay near Chomper and keep an eye on him so that if Struger throws a second slab of meat, Chomper can’t beat you to that one while you’re eating the first one.

If you aren’t sylvari, you could probably go plague form and spam 2 at the start to keep them from doing too much damage.

In spite of not winning, I really enjoyed the idea of being able to influence the future content of the game. Using the fractals as a method to reveal lore is also very interesting. Implement an ongoing research institute that allows players to make contributions to the development of different fractal stories. When a certain fractal reaches completion, the developers will implement it. The options would be generated by A.Net.

reason behind time gating quartz?

It’s something different and mixes it up. Is it somewhat tedious to have to do every day? Yes, but it’s also interesting to take a moment and go find a place of power. The interesting thing will be what happens to quartz after the sanctum leaves. If the only remaining way to get it is from home instances, the supply will slowly deplete until the next bazaar. Who knows when that’ll be!

Adnul Irongut. The Gate Keeper

Adnul is aggressive, meaning he rarely bluffs. I beat him by carefully counting to track when his abilities are up. I didn’t play him enough to notice if he prioritizes water over belch, but he will pretty much use them as soon as they are off cooldown.

I used boast to get me through a rough patch late in the game. It is true that there is a little luck involved for him, but here’s my basic strategy:

The start of the game is a bit of a toss up, he won’t use the buff until he’s lost some health. I basically try to bluff the first two or three rounds, if he catches me I drink water. He still has high health so his belch doesn’t do much damage and with it on cooldown I can drink safely to recoup the health. He will drink water after a few normal drinks, so try to get a belch in after he drinks two or three times to negate it.

Once he has used belch and water, you now have to pay close attention to drink and round counts to know when he can use them again. Avoid drinking water when his belch is not on cooldown and don’t belch unless his water is off cooldown. Get comfortable playing with low health and remember that drinking gets your belch off cooldown. The key to winning is stopping his heal.

Oh, I also didn’t actually beat him. We both ran out of health on the same round, but apparently that counts as a win. Keep that in mind.
