I wouldn’t mind being able to just salvage them or pass them on to an alt. I’m sure it’s an intended gold sink, but let’s face it, currency doesn’t exactly flow that freely in this game, particularly if you craft at all.
I find myself either destroying items or watching my bags fill up with useless junk I have no intention of using again. Outgrown gathering tools and karma items, Masterpiece items, and now, oddball crafted items!
I just wasted trinkets making 9 Houndsmaster Warhorns to raise my Huntsman skill, only to find out that I can only use the things myself and I’ve long out-leveled them! Can’t sell them, can’t salvage them. What a waste!
Once again, the botters and the gold sellers are making it hard for the honest players by causing ArenaNet to put such silly restrictions in place.
Why anyone would oppose that is because people tend to be completely oblivious to other people around them. Players who like to kill time dueling seem to enjoy doing it in populated areas where they can be seen. They have no consideration and no self-control.
I’ve had enough of this behavior to last me a lifetime.
Why can I salvage or sell some of them to vendors, but others, like those 4-slot leather bags or karma items can only be destroyed? How about making them Account Bound AND letting me sell thme to a vendor or salvaging them?
I hate to waste anything, but, at this rate, either I never buy karma equipment or I quickly run out of inventory space.
I’d much rather see developers concentrate on PvE content than attempting to satisfy PvPers (who are never satisfied). Some people are more interested in cooperation than competition. We don’t feel we have anything to prove. If you want to butt heads with other players, there is an outlet here for that. It’s up to you if you choose to utilize it.
Want arenas? There are other options available. Enjoy.
No thank you. It would be different if people knew how to duel one another without being a complete nuisance to the majority of other people around them. Since people have no regard for others, it is much better for ArenaNet to give this “feature” a pass. There are plenty of other games where you can indulge yourselves. Pick one.
