They got rid of seeing people’s level in WvW, think the same with WvW rank
It’s actually surprising that A-Net has kept the Gold to Gem concept in the game. Other games like Star Wars The Old Republic have just the “cash shop” option where you HAVE to use Cash to buy things when they went free to pay. So be happy that A-Net still has the option to turn gold to gems.

Can you please “pin” this thread to the top—it keeps moving down and could be missed
Thanks
I agree, I would be happy if it were something like dimensions in Rift.
Also, housing items should come from: NPC (building blocks and basic stuff), crafting and gem store.
Rift Housing sounds interesting too
Not that I think this game needs something like this. You want a sub, jut buy gems every month. Job done.
Naw, that doesn’t address the issue.
Imo, the best implementation of a sub at this point in the game should be one that encourages players who’re willing to spend real money on conveniences to do so by offering better value for it.
See, that is the thing.
This is the only game that I know of that does gold (in game, no monetary value) against “real” cash
Games like SWTOR is driven off cash, with a sub and “cartel” coins-that are paid in cash. The ecomomy is driven by cash and “credits” are worthless.—its one of the small problems with this game with all the inflation that happens when people discover a new “gold farm” that there is a in-balance of gold/money
Ok-VIP Sub
1. costume changes free
2. a “VIP” hairstylist" that is no cost for change hair styles and color-unlimited
3. no waypoint costs
4. a amount of Gems equal to sub price
5. —As I see a VIP as pre-paying for future content in advance, a special price for any expansions in the future
6. If player Housing was EVER introduced- These items would be located in your Housing for conveniance

T-shirt with " I believe in RNG-Jesus!!!!"….lol
With Guild Wars 2 Logo of course
Sunglasses….
Lots and lots of different sunglasses!!!!
Aviator Glasses with the Guild Wars 2 logo on them!!!
i’d like to see a poll on what items players want on the Gem store
I think this is a really interesting idea. Let me talk with the team about doing that sometime in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.
Someone on Reddit suggest a Slothasor Plush. We need a Slothasor Plush badly.
Quaggan plushies, of course!
(Unless that already exists. But just about any plushie related to the creatures of GW2 would be nice.)
I was wondering when those two ideas would surface.
SLIPPERS!!!!!! I saw this after I did the survey… How can I add this awesome idea.
The idea of charr slippers started (I think) with a comment I made at a fan event back in 2004 or 2005. And darned if a wonderful community member named Purple Llama didn’t make me a personalize set (which I treasure to this day)! The slippers are awesome — so awesome I don’t really wear them I keep going back to the concept as a wonderful idea, and something that would be uniquely GW/GW2.
But having said that, I don’t have a clue how easily they could be mass-produced, nor how much the asking price would need to be.
On the other hand, I confess I still <3 <3 <3 this idea! [/quote]
Can’t A-net just use the 77 pages of items that people want in the Gem Shop??? is that what that was it was created for?
But Kitten, add in a poll for player housing and make some more people happy!!!
How does it change the business model?
By adding an optional VIP subscription.

Sorta like what SWTOR did with their “sub” where you get a amount of “gems” equal to sub price? —just a question
I understand A-net are working really hard on WvW and the Polls are great ways to get the WvW Community’s input into the game. however, one of the questions that should be put to the community is…should WvW be considered END-game ( level 80)
As it stands, yes, a person can level a character to 60 and join in WVW and be a “up-level” in WVW, however they DO NOT have full armor rating, don’t put out full DPS as a level 80,they don’t have the full skills and abilities that a level 80 has, and seeing that WVW is a GROUP event, they are basically the “rally bots” is zergs. Level 80’s in the group are “carrying” them. So, Please ask the COMMUNITY if they want up-levels in WVW.
Back when they were asking for feedback on the idea of guild halls, my biggest suggestion was that they make sure that any system they put in was able to be used with player housing as well. While we have yet to see if they did that or not, I really hope they did.
Any art assets needed for it should mostly exist. The big question is how do we want them to implement it? If it’s based off of the same systems as a guild hall, then I’d expect it to be that you pay to claim a “house” area (instanced, naturally), and then you talk to an NPC in the instance to decorate and buy upgrades.
You could start with a tent, and if you supply the NPC with enough items, then you can upgrade to a small building. More items, and you eventually upgrade to a larger building. Depending on which area you’ve purchased/claimed, your home will be in one of the different styles used in the game.
Extras: I would say either no crafting stations, or only one of the player’s choosing once they’ve built up enough. The home instance nodes should stay in the home instance (there can be a lot of them, they’d take up too much space), but a few different nodes could then be sold for the personal home. A small garden with a few basic plants you can harvest, for example. Or a chicken coop that yields a couple of eggs/bird meat a day.
What ANet gains: The answer there is pretty much what they gained with guild halls, time investment and a material/gold sink. Let’s look at those big guilds that have fully decked out guild halls, and ask ourselves “How many of them are really funding that?” If they split it fairly amongst all the members, then each person had to provide very little. That’s the kind of sink player housing would be. Many small sinks, rather than the big one we tend to think of guild halls being.
And by making it something you can upgrade and/or decorate, you encourage players to invest time and effort into working with it. That makes them more invested into the game, and less likely to just walk away. It also means that they can put something in the gemstore for it (such as maybe a version of the personal farm that grows flax), and some people will snap it up. Gem sales are always good for ANet.
It could make A-net some good money….if….they would do it….
I’d hate to see the price tag that ANet would put on a multi region home.
Those SWTOR houses weren’t cheap either. I remember it going up to 7-9mill credits to fully unlock the bigger strongholds.
Going off the kinda things that would buy you in SWTOR, that’s 3-4 BIS crafted weapons or 3-4 nightmare raid carries (at the prices my former team charged). Roughly equal to multiple legendary money in GW2 I’d say.
^^^^^^^^—-you got the Idea!!! Loved the SWTOR houses!!! they were HUGE and you could put a BUNCH of stuff in them…being able to use trade network, mail, at the house instead of going to Fleet rocked!
We have home instances. I imagine that they would allow us to decorate our home instances before creating a separate player housing system.
This. It would be my hope that ANet would put less resources into such features and more into sustainable, regular releases of playable content.
Ok, I understand the resources for this would take up some devs…but think of this….
They put out a set of weapon skins and glider wings about every two weeks, so SLOWLY adding a house and furniture at some point and slowing down the glider research to make more money for the game might help on the other end to get more sustainable, regular releases of playable content (Money into game= more game to play)

Why would the Home Salvage Station only be usable once/day? Why would it be limited at all?
or if they “have to be” limited…how about making them at least “Rich” nodes (ore, lumber, and food) and “rich gather nodes” for the leather and cloth racks—-PLEASE!!
Decorations…
Could be Gem shop
Could be Scribe…..or even…..something like we had in GW1….
Like the Hall of Monuments—Achievements from doing things in the game!!
I want my housing from Star Wars The Old republic—They were called Galactic Strongholds…Those houses were HUGE!!! They had multi-rooms and different planets with different locations. (you can reference Dulfy.net for what they are like)
That could be done in this game with regions instead of planets. And with new expansions—make a new house…simple.
I think the question for getting player housing started about 3 years ago…
I was just wondering if we are any closer in getting player housing?
Don’t get me wrong, the guild stuff is pretty nice looking ,however, I’m not going to invest time, mats, and gold/gems into some thing that isn’t mine. That simple.
WvW is getting polls on what they really want in the game, maybe instead of 76+ plus pages of " I want X in the gem shop" maybe narrowing it down to couple of hottest items that have been asked for in the past and put it to a vote.
Just a thought
No, GW2 doesn’t want your money. It’s simple.
Grind out PVE for many hours and get some gold, convert into gems and spent $0 of real life money.
Why A-net went in this direction, baffles me. In GW1, if you want something from the “cash-shop” you …actually…have…to…spend …..(oh no)….Money!
There is no program or incentive for people that spend real life cash to get gold/gems. I mean, really, if I spend enough money getting pizza, I end up getting a free pizza once in a while at least.
So really, grind some PVE and convert worthless in-game gold into gems. A-Net doesn’t want your real life cash. They will just make it up in another “expansion”Iv’e actually seen a lot of people in the game say they don’t have time or patience for farming gold so they happily spend real life money on gems to trade for gold, believe it or not there’s a lot of people out there who do that. And if they are wealthy they really don’t have anything to lose by it, and time is more precious than money for these people. I’m also guilty of buying gem cards from target and I’m not even wealthy >.<
Sorry, you missed the sarcasm…
I buy Gem cards too…
The point was kind of at the fact that Gold for real life cash have no real incentive. Like I said, if I buy enough pizzas, I at least get a “free” one once in awhile.

Flame Wings—like the Feather Wings but….made of FIRE!!!
I kind of wished there was a Legacy Map that we could buy with Gifts of Exploration.
Once people have completed the basic game, and got 100% exploration on their account for ONE character you would be given this option.
It’s basically what the Op is talking about, but if a person has extra Gifts of Exploration, they could go to “Vendor” (something like the special merchant like WVW has named Heroics Notary) that would sell a Legacy map. This map would be clear of the exploration and Way Points (you could see where to go and how to get there) BUT need Hearts, Vistas, POI’s and Hero Points. This map would be on any future charaters that you make, because it part of your Legacy…
Now, the only way to have a Legacy Map is to FULLY COMPLETE the map in the first place, but it makes it a little easier to get around on any OTHER characters that you create on your account. So this way it’s not a “cash shop buy” but you have to do the “work” on at least one character to be able for this to happen.

Random Black Lion Ticket Skin of the Week!!
—What: 1 Black Lion Ticket will buy One Weapon Skin from ALL pervious weapon skins that were already introduced on a WEEKLY rotation basis.
— Why?
Random skins a week could help kill the overpriced market on weapon skins. I mean, really? A Scythe staff skin costs 5,550 gold? really?? Fused weapon skins ranging from 3,400 to 1000 gold. You could buy a legendary weapon for the price of a skin? or at least a pre-cursor for that much, but for a skin?
Without some type of rotation, all that will happen is that newer people will look less at older weapon skins as something that isn’t going to happen for them. With the current system of using 5 Black lion skins to get a older weapon skins, is a little, um, too much of a cost.
Also with a 1 ticket rotation, you might have more people getting keys from the gem shop and getting something they want and make them happy!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestions-Gemstore-Items/6099380
drawing on that…
We already have Heroics Notary in WVW for Hero Challenges, it would be nice to have a Gem store map that was open and showed everything, but you could fill it out with different things, WVW Tokens, PVP Tokens and maybe others to be added to get map completion just to change things up other than the same map grind for every character that we make.
Bring back the 80’s!!!
Vertical Shade Sunglasses!!
(google it, not going to try to put a link in for it)
Black Lion Chest Items Exchange
I have played the game for years and have bought a LOT of Black Lion Keys. It would be nice to have some sort of exchange NPC for some of the items that I don’t need and are just sitting in my storage.
I have the permanent Bank Access, Personal Merchant and Trader so I don’t need extra of single use ones, along with the 100’s of different boosters that I’m not using.
Having a Trader in the same area where the Black lion Tickets are at, with a little icon of a black lion chest over the NPC’s head to exchange items that you get from the Black Lion Chests would help. This might encourage people to get keys and trade out the items they don’t use for items they WILL use, which might increase key sales.
Also, with that exchange NPC, maybe a tab with a end number of " X" items will get you the permanent version of that item.
Thanks for your time
In 2014 Star Wars the Old Republic got Player Housing
http://dulfy.net/2014/03/06/swtor-player-housing-announced-with-short-trailer/
Two years later for our game, we don’t have that option…A-net why can’t we get player housing? Simple question.
It is true we have guild halls but my question is why should I slave for a guild that I could be kicked out of …or… invest money into something that is MINE
We have a “home instance” however I can’t decorate it, I can’t change it.
I would love to be able to “purchase” a home or a bed and breakfast or a bar or….there are MANY different options that could be done. I would love a home I’m Wizard’s Fief in Garen Hoff (but there are so many other places too to put a home)—basically make a Instance that you place your new " home" in— also transfer our nodes to , but lock if we want, also the ability to “invite” people to our home to visit, party, RP or other things.
Lets say that you put “packs” in the game that you buy in the gems store that you buy furniature ,decorations, fountains, and so on (most of this data is already in the game code, you would just have to take it and make it into a item that is placed in the instance) and once you open the pack you could place them in your home. If you already have that item, you could list it on the trade market to sell but be able to buy and sell these items. (basically pack sales from the gems store… but able to by with gold on the trading post)
But, this could be more than just Gem store Items—think if you get done with a long quest, dungeon, Raid, Living story and such that you could get a item from that to display in your home.
So this could be gem bought but also accomplishment driven to make your “own” home
Thank you
