Their are a lot worse ones then the thief back stab combo that if you knew about you would change your mind.

Agreed. If people wanna put so much time into a side game let them get some recognition for it.

Yea so basically rework some professions trait lines, try to have synergy within and cross trait lines to improve lacking professions.

Defenders flame and might of the protector are not procing off of mace 3 on guardian. Idk if this is working as intended but it has been this way since I started playing.

To get straight to the point I play a few profession but main guardian. This topic is intended for tourny play and not hot joins. I will use guardian as an example for this discussion.
After playing guardian for a while one of the things I really like about the profession is that their are a LOT of viable builds and many more variations of these builds. Some are even cross trait lines. A ton of synergy to be found and a great example of well designed traits and profession in general. A few other professions are in the same boat or close to it but their are a few lacking. I’m really hoping they don’t balance the game by buffing individual utility skills making them a must have or by weapon skills. I think the real problem with some of the lacking professions is in the trait lines.
Lets take warrior for example. For the most part their is only one viable build and that’s 100b. Now it can be argued that defensive builds are not viable because their is nothing that sustains the warrior for a long time in the fight. The main problem I see after trying and playing many builds is that, to be frank, most of the traits are garbage and their is barely any synergy between traits.
So in conclusion I would just like to say I’m on board with this game for the long haul just really hope you guys make some strong decisions on balance early. I know most companies don’t like to make huge changes like reworking a profession traits once a game has been out for a while but if you don’t do it now I think you will continue having problems. You could even do like some other games do (HoN) and have a contest where the community comes up with traits or ideas for them and they get voted on if you guys are “running dry” on ideas for some of the kittened professions.

Agree completely with OP and Schwahrheit. I think it is just like every other game. Noobs complain about a profession/class that they die to a lot. People, stop stacking only vitality. After you have so much vitality armor gives you more life. Effective hit points (ehp) learn about it and use it. Back stab thiefs do a ton of damage but they ARE a glass canon and drop so easy. Mesmers on the other hand have way to many tools at their disposal while also being effective damage dealers and having a kitten down state.
