You are crying about blues? I have been getting whites from chests now and then. Not sure why there would be whites in a chest, doesn’t really seem like treasure to me, feels more like someone threw thier old junk in the chest.
It wasn’t actually a chest, it was that boss guy’s laundry basket.
Have you played a game where you can knock enemies off cliffs/edges for an instakill?
sw:tor. yes, i have played that game, where i can kb enemies of cliffs/edges, blah blah. LOVED it. on the scale of balance of lose loot vs. the sheer satisfaction of being able to do to them what they did to me?
loved it.
It was great fun. Jump in, AoE knock, and everything went flying.
And yes, occasionally you’d be stuck in combat because the fall hadn’t quite killed one and it couldn’t get back to you. And occasionally they’d drop loot that you couldn’t get to, and the loot glowy would taunt you.
And bosses were immune to knockback anyway, so it wasn’t a cheap win.
But it was so… so… satisfying. And felt more fair than trying to climb up that Dredge scaffolding. I have a hammer, I should be able to send them flying if they can do it to me.
Oh, another game where it works? Champions Online. Knocking bad guys off the roof is a perfectly valid tactic. And again, it’s only the standard mobs.

There’s only one version of this dungeon. The L2 is the minimum level of the character, not a dungeon level like in the Fractals. So basically anyone out of the Tutorial can join in.
Providing too many details is slightly ruining events for me

I really like this level of detail, but I agree that a ‘spoiler’ clicky for the extra event details would help both types of player (aaagh spoiler vs more info!).
Have you tried logging out of the game somewhere other than Lion’s Arch, then logging back in and going there? I don’t know if that will fix it, but it has to be worth a try.
I couldn’t do it. But it was an awesome piece of design.
I would have loved to have a non-timed, no-loot, no achievement version to play around in for the people who can’t do the timed one.
As an addition to what has been said before (I especially like the “not everyone has it” thing) I only want to add that this achievement doesn’t count towards the Halloween-title. You’re not gonna miss out on much if you can really not do it in the end.
If that’s the case, I feel a bit better about probably not being able to do it.
I keep missing one of the early turns at the moment. But I am getting higher up before dying. Usually.
Armchair game design warning.
I think making both the crafted and the dropped weapon skins so rare (in different ways) was a mistake. I believe the drop rates of the dropped skins should be set so that anyone playing through the event content normally should have at least one by the end. (‘normally’ being, at least completing the scavenger hunt, and eating enough candy corn for the monthly achievement). The crafted ones can stay rare and special.
I would change the black lion chests so that if they are opened during the event, they always give one random booster, one trick or treat bag, and three halloween themed tonics. The random skin drops would then be in the trick or treat bags along with all the other possible drops.
That way, if you open a chest during the event, you always get some event items, and the same chance at rarer stuff as for any trick or treat bag. Then people can decide if they want to open the chests now for halloween stuff, or wait until after the event, when they drop normal stuff again.
I remembered another one I was going to mention… There’s a rather large Pirates of Penzance reference in, I think, Bloodtide Coast.
They are, in fact, the Penzan Pirates. That was awesome, there were a couple of us that listened to the whole song.
From today’s patch notes:
“Updated the Barrel and Green Plant environmental weapons to disappear after lying on the ground for a set time. This will prevent map issues caused by hundreds of these bundles idling on the ground.”
Please can this also be done for the Bandit bombs in these caverns? There are hundreds of these causing a frame rate drop.
When the game launched, you could salvage items bought with Karma, and retrieve the runes to apply to other gear. It’s no longer possible to do that, but I haven’t found any other way of getting the Minor two-set runes except by random drop. (of Hoelbrak, of the Rata Sum, etc)
Would it be possible to make these introductory runes available some other way? Or is that already in the game somewhere and I missed it?
I realise there is a workaround using Transmutation, but that is not always ideal.
I’m running Staff with Sword/Sword. It’s viable, but another offhand would probably be more versatile. I just like the two-sword blender animation.
To start with, I stacked condition damage, but actually I think it works better with power and Mind Wrack shatters (F1), rather than trying to stack Confusion shatters (F2). I’m respeccing my gear as I upgrade over the next few levels.
I also re-traited for Toughness since L40, and I die less now. However, if you can play well enough to not get hit (I can’t…) this shouldn’t matter.
Notifications for friends/guildmembers coming online (with a checkbox in options to turn each of these off, so people in huge guilds aren’t swamped).
Custom chat channels – both open ones, and ones that can be password protected, or by invite only. Ideally, we could have both per-server and cross-server versions, with per-server channels allowing guesting players to join in.
These are most likely items which you have previously bought from Karma merchants (after completing a heart).
At least, that’s the only place I’ve noticed that happening.
I just came here to post about this myself, actually. Since these orders can never be filled, it seems strange that the system allows them to be posted in the first place. It also makes it harder to get an at-a-glance indication of the actual value of the item.
I think that the sell page for an item should show the vendor price somewhere obvious, too.
