I also felt very glassy while playing with Firebrand. Even after mixing some trailblazer gear in to get some more tankiness, I was dying against normal mobs in the new area pretty fast. A lack of mobility and active defenses, and a very weak heal with Mantra of Solace wasn’t helping the case much (yes I know I could have used another heal but the point was to test the efficiency of firebrand skills).
Weird. I was running Seraph gear and was basically unkillable, and was doing enough dmg that I feel comfortable soloing.
I do not understand this gw2lfg.com. It doesn’t show everyone’s server name, don’t you need to be on the same server to join someone in the dungeon. I’m not going to switch servers just to join someone for a single dungeon run.
You don’t have to be in the same server. You can do dungeons with anyone in the world.
I thought you have to guest on another server to play with someone on another server which hasn’t been implemented yet.
Nope, you can already join people from other servers. No need to guest.
Please, no ‘LFG tools’. It would kill the social aspect as it did in WoW.
You do realize that the LFG tools in games like WoW, Rift, ToR, and DCUO are amazingly convenient for people that don’t have a lot of time to play don’t you? Who cares if you don’t know the person, it’s a pug, you aren’t supposed to know them. And unlike in all those other games, which are separated by servers, this game is basically universal. You can already group up with people cross server, you can chat with people cross server, you can friend invite people cross server, you can even guild invite people cross server. So it’s not the anonymous system that you seem to hate so much. It’s actually the perfect system for this game.
Also, if you think that a dungeon finder “destroys” communities, then you must also think that the overflow servers “destroy” the community.
As you can clearly see, Fyonna didn’t do anything for us and we couldn’t progress.
Edit: This was post patch.

I feel like you should be able to enable and disable auto targeting on specific skills, not just an all or nothing style. It could basically work the same way that toggling auto cast does, but with a different modifier key. The reason I feel this way is because I like auto targeting on most skills, but I don’t want my charges or leaps to auto target.
WoW fixed the problem of having to spam chat forever looking for a party years ago with LFD…
I remember when ANet said that one of the reasons they didn’t want the holy trinity in the game was so that people didn’t have to spam in towns looking for a group, but that the group would just naturally form, and I guess it sort of does naturally form, but you still have to spam LFG or LFM in map chat for a long time to get into a lot of dungeons.
People are going to say that LFD destroyed the WoW server community. This is crap imo. Since mid BC I played on one of the more populated server that ran PvE content and there was no sense of community. The only people on the server that were known were the people that were either very high ranking arena players, or the hardcore progression raiders; and even then it tended to not be about individuals, but the guild name they had that got them recognized.
This game is also perfect for and LFD style system since servers don’t even matter (except for WvWvW). Screw having a server community; if you’re the kind of person that adds people to your friends list because they did good in a dungeon, well guess what, you could still do that!!! You would have a world wide (or at least regional wide) community.

Heh. ‘Random’ day/night cycle.
It’s random because of overflow servers. I’m constantly entering and exiting overflows of LA that aren’t synced up. It’s only noticeable if you play a sylvari though (or somehow got that legendary GS that requires both other legendaries).
I would LOVE this, maybe you should put this in suggestions.
Good idea. I went ahead and put it in the suggestion section.
There should be a way to toggle the glow effect to either be always on, always off, or the day/night feature it has now. It’s really annoying that my sylvari looks kind of bland during the day and amazing at night. This goes the other way too, there are a lot of people who make a sylvari and don’t know about the glow at all (since no other race has something like this). This causes a lot of distress among people who roll sylvari.
To show what I mean about my sylvari:
No glow.

The glow makes a HUGE difference. During the day she has dull yellow eyes and brown hair, but at night she has bright yellow eyes that really stand out and hair with orange tips. I want my sylvari to always look amazing, not just look amazing at some random day/night cycle.

This game really does need an LFD tool. All the people QQing about community are really blowing their old “server community” out of proportion. I remember WoW and Rift before LFD. The only server community was on the server specific forums.
