To anyone still having this problem, I’ve found a (janky) solution. I was a bit skeptical of it at first, but it fixed this problem for me; I’m downloading at 1.5MB/sec now.

You can try connecting through a free VPN. This just requires you to temporarily set up a network connection on your computer. (See http://www.vpnbook.com/freevpn for more info) You can delete this connection after the download completes.

- Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center
- Click on “Set up a new connection or network”
- Select “Connect to a workplace” and click Next
- Select “User my Internet connection (VPN)”
- Paste the below into the “Internet address:” box and click next (Note, this address may change in the future, check http://www.vpnbook.com/freevpn for the latest servers)

- Enter the following username and password, check the “Remember this password” box, and click “Connect”:

And you should be good to go. Just wanted to share this solution since this was a fairly frustrating affair and I was happy to finally have it resolved.

Same thing happening to me…2 days now can’t install…

Having the exact same problem. Got as far as the patching screen and then it just kept stopping and kicking me off with an error. I made the SUPER BAD mistake of uninstalling and trying again and now I am at the original screen, stuck.

I took the last 2 nights off so I could try this game again, and I regret it. Could we PLEASE get an official word about this? Kind of not a nice way to greet potential new players…

Personally I think you’ve actually come at the perfect time because for the most part the " lack of end game " as many call it may slowly begin to be stamped out if rumors of the next patch are true.

Very curious as to what these “rumors” are…care to share?

I just returned after nearly a year…I got a few toons up to the mid 20s and then left for MoP…now I’m back and my new toon is in the 40s and I am in love with this game like it’s beta all over again. Maybe it’s because I’ve put WoW behind me for good, and that I’m not rushing AT ALL to 80, are why I’m enjoying the game as much as I am.

I don’t get the negativity at all, it’s confusing. The game is better than when it launched, which was when everyone loved it. Maybe people need to take a break like I did!

I’ve been repping! (My toon is named Catcrest). I play mainly evenings EST, not that much activity in the chat log but everyone who is on is always super nice, when they’re online.

I’m on Dragonsreach, but if that doesn’t matter I’m interested in an invite as well.
