Guild Wars 2

My issue came back. I reran CCleaner, and it found new registry errors. I removed those, and guild wars 2 works again.

Either something i’m doing with guild wars 2, or something guild wars 2 is doing, or an interaction between one of my programs and guild wars 2 is causing lost registries, which is crashing with error 7.

I also disabled most startup programs, though i didn’t have anything in there using a dedicated server.

Oh, and @Ashley, when a large group of customers experience a problem, it is up to the vendor to provide a solution. It doesn’t matter who’s fault it is… If you want us to use your software, it has to work in all environments. This is a lot of players experiencing the same serious issue causing the software to be unusable not an isolated incident on the side of the players.

The problem was an interaction of the guild wars 2 software crashing the router connection.

I think I’ve found the problem.
Incompatible registries.

Run CCleaner to clean up your system and registries.

I did some testing today, and after CCleaner, I’ve stopped crashing with error:7.

I am also getting this issue.

I can play just fine until peak times (7p cst-?), then i start chain disconnecting. It doesn’t seem to matter what zone i’m in.
Internet cuts out.. then i can reset the router remotely, and it works fine.

I did the /80 trick posted on the first page
updated video drivers
did port forwarding.
I tried different zones and different characters.

This is not my PC. I can play all other online games just fine, and i can play this game fine until PC.
Going to try a few more things today, and if they don’t work I’ll open a ticket.

Oh, I thought gate of madness was part of the guild’s name. It fits in with your Cthulhu title :-p

What server is your guild on?

Staff mainly… greatsword for cooldowns, and to get the second phantasm up early.

Chaos Storm – Summon illusion + Chaos Armor
Then phantasm from staff.
Reset chaos armor, then switch to greatsword to summon another phantasm. A backup illusion if one died. If mobs are close enough, I’ll hit the pushback… and a few seconds later pop back to staff.

I’ve been thinking of trying out the sword + pistol instead of greatsword. I doubt anything could make me give up staff… it is a lot of fun.
